Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Expected Launch And Price Analysis highlights

Royal Enfield launched a special custom version of the Shotgun 650 at Motoverse 2023, called the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition. The manufacturer also revealed that the regular production version of the bobber will be launched “early next year”. Since the custom Shotgun 650 deliveries are to start in January 2024, we expect the production version to be launched sometime in the same month as well. 

The Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition was only available for booking for the festival attendees. Only 25 units will be produced and is priced at Rs 4,25,000 (ex-showroom). Based on the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, the bobber shares a lot of parts with the cruiser. Some differences include a different headlight cowl, a flatter handlebar with bar-end mirrors, mid-set footpegs, twin-peashooter exhausts and a chopped rear fender giving it a distinct bobber look.

Aside from the paintjob, it is likely that there won’t be many differences between the production version and the custom version of the Shotgun 650. The Motoverse Edition gets a Rs 4.25 lakh price tag because it is a custom motorcycle and has an exclusivity factor because of the limited 25-unit production run.

The regular production model is expected to be a bit more affordable than the Rs 3,60,899 starting price of the Super Meteor 650. So, the Shotgun 650 is expected to be launched sometime in January with an unveiling in mid-December 2023, and its prices will likely start from Rs 3.5 lakh (all prices ex-showroom) onwards. After its launch, the Shotgun 650 will be the only 650cc bobber available in India. Other alternatives in the 300cc segment include the Jawa Perak and the Jawa 42 Bobber.
