Royal Enfield has announced the dates for the much-awaited Himalayan Odyssey 2022. It commences on the 2nd of July and ends on the 18th of July 2022. The 18th edition of the Himalayan Odyssey will be flagged off from Delhi towards Umling La - the new highest motorable road in the world.
Started in 1997, the Himalayan Odyssey is a challenging ride through the Himalayas over a period of 18 days. What makes the 18th edition special is the fact that the riders will be riding to Uming La, which is the new highest motorable road in the world at 19,024 feet above the sea level.

There will be two groups and while both the groups will be flagged off from Delhi together, each will ride on different routes before finally meeting at Leh. Through the ride, the participants will ride across the Himalayas in Ladakh as well as Spiti. More than 70 participants will be covering a distance of about 2,700km in 18 days on their Royal Enfield motorcycles
The ride is aimed at a sustainable, zero ‘single-use plastic’ goal and spreading the message of Responsible Travel practices. Royal Enfield initiated the #LeaveEveryPlaceBetter campaign in the 2019 Odyssey which aimed at making each ride a zero ‘single-use-plastic-ride’ by discouraging participants from using bottled water, and facilitating purified water by employing dispensers along the way.
The ride will cost you Rs 55,000 as an individual and Rs 1,10,000 for couples. The registrations for the odyssey are open on the Royal Enfield website and you can get more details there.
In a related development, the Royal Enfield Scram 450 was spotted testing recently, and it’s likely to be the affordable variant of the Himalayan 450. Read all about it in our story.
