Norton, the legendary British bike manufacturer, has revealed the technical specifications of its upcoming Atlas ADV range. It will have 4 variants: Atlas, Atlas Apex, Atlas GT, and Atlas GT Apex. Here are the full technical specifications:

Engine and gearbox

The Norton Atlas will be powered by a 585cc parallel twin engine with a 270-degree crankshaft. The engine makes 70PS and 57.5Nm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a bidirectional quickshifter.

Underpinnings

All the variants are based on a steel trellis frame with the engine acting as a stressed member. They get a cast aluminium swingarm. The base models will weigh 188kg , while the Apex variants will weigh 192kg (both wet, without fuel), courtesy of the added equipment. However, the major difference will be in the wheels and suspension.

All variants get a fully adjustable 43mm KYB front fork. The base variants have a rebound and preload adjustable rear shock, while the Apex variants get a fully adjustable rear shock. The off-road biased Atlas has 180mm wheel travel at both ends, while the road-biased Atlas GT has 140mm of wheel travel. The Atlas gets 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear wheel, while the Atlas GT gets 17-inch wheels on both ends.

The base models will get twin 310mm semi-floating discs up front with radially mounted Bybre calipers, along with a 270mm rear disc coupled with a Bybre caliper. However, the Apex versions will get upgraded to fully floating discs but will retain the same calipers.

The seat height of the Atlas will be 845mm, and that of the Atlas GT will be 815mm – 30mm lower.

Features and equipment

Most of the features are standard across the variants – 8-inch colour TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and multimedia control. All the variants will get over-the-air software as well as firmware updates, along with Norton Ride app integration.

The Atlas range has 5 riding modes (Urban, Rain, Sport, Tour and Enduro), a 6-axis IMU with dual-channel ABS, traction control, wheelie control, rear lift and slide control, drag torque control, and cruise control. On top of this, the Apex variant gets vehicle hold control along with an upgraded Bosch 10.3ME IMU compared to the base model’s Bosch 10.3 IMU.

The bike also gets keyless ignition with an electronic fuel filler cap and seat lock, along with a Type-C USB port. The Apex version also gets heated grips and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

The Apex versions will also include additional equipment such as adjustable hand and foot levers, aluminium footpegs with removable rubber inserts, an adjustable windscreen, a rear luggage and pillion handle kit, and an aluminium sump protection kit.

The lighting system includes twin LED projector headlamps along with dynamic light intensity LED DRLs. The front indicators will be integrated into the handguards, and at the rear, it will get an integrated tail-lamp and indicators.

Colours

The base models will get 4 colour options: Matrix Black, Trophy Silver, Veronica Green, and Sinopia Orange, while the Apex models will add an additional Glacier Blue colour option.

Expected launch

The Norton bikes are expected to be launched in September 2026 at an expected price of Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom). The bikes will go against rivals like the Kawasaki Versys 650, the BMW F 450 GS and the Honda NX 500 (the latter only in terms of its price).
