While the Hyundai Creta’s first-generation was a major success, the second-generation of the SUV has been an even bigger blockbuster. After receiving its facelift last year, Hyundai has now launched three King Editions of the SUV including the King, King Knight, and the King Limited Edition. We take you around the Creta King which replaces the SX(O) variant to become the new top-end. Here is the Creta King in pictures:
The fascia of the Creta King remains similar to the regular Creta. It gets the same parametric grille finished in dark chrome. Beside it are the squared out LED headlamps and you get connected DRL setup on top with sequential indicators.
As for the side profile, the main change here is the presence of new 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with an unique design. Chrome door handles give it a nice contrast. Apart from that, it remains more or less similar to the other variants with an upright stance and a silver trim running from the top of the front doors to the C-pillar. The car displayed here is finished in Titan Grey Matte, which gives it a dapper look.

At the rear end, the Creta King continues to get connected taillamps, a faux skid plate on the bumper and a squared off look. Specific to the King is an exclusive badge on the right side of the tailgate. It also gets an optional matte black colour scheme.
The interior of the Creta King also remains similar to the regular variants with dual 10.25-inch screens for the touchscreen infotainment and digital instrument cluster. Keen eyed viewers will notice that the Creta King also gets a touch panel for the climate control from the Creta Electric to give it a more futuristic look.

There is also a new sliding front armrest with storage space while the rear seat also gets front seatback tray tables with a device holder and retractable cupholder from the Alcazar.

There are no further changes to the interior of the Creta King variant and it continues to get 60:40 split folding rear seats, rear sunshades and a 2-step reclining rear seat for added comfort and convenience.
Feature-wise the Creta King has inherited some new tech from the Creta Electric. The 8-way powered driver’s seat now get a memory function, while the co-driver seat is also powered and can also be moved from the rear with controls on the side.

In terms of technology, the Creta King now also comes with a wired-to-wireless adapter for Android Auto and Apple Carplay as standard. Besides this, the Creta King gets features such as ambient lighting, 8-speaker Bose sound system, rain-sensing wipers, cooled glovebox, wireless smartphone charger and connected car technology.

Safety-wise, the only addition to the Creta King has been a dashcam which was offered with some special editions before, while other safety features like 6 airbags, Level 2 ADAS suite, electronic parking brake with auto hold, electronic stability control and a tyre pressure monitoring system are carried over from the Creta SX(O).

Under the hood, the Creta King is available with the same powertrain options as the regular Creta. These include a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. The naturally aspirated petrol and the diesel can also be had with 6-speed manual transmissions while all three are offered with automatic transmission options as well. The Creta King rivals other compact SUVs such as the Kia Seltos, Maruti Victoris, Maruti Grand Vitara, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and Honda Elevate.
The Creta continues to impress and with this new King variant has just taken the game forward even more. With the added goodies from the Creta electric and Alcazar, it matches and even ups a few rivals with it’s renewed value proposition. It is no surprise that the Creta continues to sell by truckloads given regular updates and well-roundedness of the entire package.
