The last few months have been bustling with new car launches, including multiple mass market and premium models from renowned car manufacturers. And it’s not over yet as the trend will continue as we head to the upcoming 2024 festive season where we will see a bunch of exciting cars. In this article, we have listed down the cars that will be launched in the coming months and might be worth waiting for:
We have first covered the EV launches, followed by the ICE-powered vehicles and the CNG vehicle.
Expected Price: From Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom)
MG will be introducing the Windsor EV on our shores on September 11, 2024. It is an electric crossover and will slot in between the Comet EV and ZS EV. It will feature modern design elements and is expected to be loaded with premium features out of which, a panoramic glass roof and 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system have been confirmed by the recent teasers.
Powertrain specifications have not been revealed yet but it is expected to offer a claimed range of 460 km. Bookings are open at select dealerships, and for more details on the car, you can check out our story on the same.
Expected price: Rs 3.5 crore (ex-showroom)
The pinnacle of luxury, the Mercedes-Benz Maybach EQS 680 SUV, is set to be launched on September 5. This will be the first electric Maybach for India and as with any other car from Mercedes’ luxury division, it will pamper owners with utmost opulence. That includes a cabin made with the most luxurious materials and a rear seat experience that can put the biggest star hotels to shame. The luxury electric SUV is expected to come with dual motors and have a claimed range of around 600 km.
Expected price: Rs 80 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Kia EV9 will make its India debut on October 3, 2024. It will be the Korean carmaker's flagship SUV on our shores, positioned above the EV6. It will boast modern and quirky styling touches with a feature-rich cabin and multiple seating layouts. It is expected to be launched with two battery pack options: a 76.1 kWh and a 99.8 kWh, the larger one offering a WLTP range of 541 km.
Expected price: Rs 11 lakh onwards (ex-showroom)
Moving on to the ICE-powered vehicles, we have the Tata Curvv which will be launched on September 2, 2024. Tata had already revealed the car along with its EV iteration, and also disclosed its powertrain specifications.
The Curvv will come with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and powered driver’s seat. The Curvv ICE will be powered by three engines, including two turbo-petrol choices and a diesel. All three engines will get manual and optional dual-clutch automatic transmissions. Expected Price: Rs 17 lakh onwards (ex-showroom)
The Hyundai Alcazar facelift will be launched on September 9, 2024. Bookings are already open for the SUV which will be available in both 6- and 7-seater configurations. Hyundai has already revealed the exterior and interior design of the three-row midsize SUV. It features a Creta-like cabin with some added features, especially for the second row seats. It retains the same turbo-petrol and diesel engines that were offered with the outgoing model.
Expected Price: Rs 7.30 lakh (ex-showroom)
The new-gen Honda Amaze launch is expected to be introduced on our shores by this festive season. Since it will be a new-gen model, one can expect a fresh new exterior and interior with plentiful feature additions..That said, don’t expect any mechanical tweaks as it is expected to be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine.
Expected price: From Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom)
We have seen Maruti testing the 2024 Dzire a couple of times suggesting its anticipated launch in the coming months. The upcoming Dzire is expected to get more convenience features and a sunroof as well, which was confirmed by the spy shots.
The Dzire will get plenty of features from the new-gen Maruti Swift, including a larger infotainment unit, a wireless phone charger, and six airbags as standard. It will be powered by the new 82 PS 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, available with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT.
Expected Price: Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Kia Carnival will be making its India comeback and is set to be launched along with the EV9 on October 3, 2024. The model has already been spotted testing here undisguised earlier this year. While no technical or feature details have been disclosed for the India-spec model, we know that globally the Carnival comes with a 12.3-inch dual-screen setup for infotainment and the digital driver's display, ventilated and powered seats,a panoramic sunroof, and 3-zone climate control. These features are expected to make its way to the Indian version as well.
While it gets petrol and hybrid options in the international markets, we expect Kia to introduce the model with a diesel engine here.

Mercedes-Benz confirmed the launch of the sixth-generation E-Class LWB for India, but the launch date is yet to be revealed. It is expected to be equipped with both petrol and diesel engines, although the specifications have not been revealed yet.
The new-gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class gets an evolutionary design, but where it really pushes the boundary is the cabin, where it gets a modern dashboard and plenty of amenities for rear-seat occupants. Clearly, this iteration of the E-Class is a mini S-Class.
Expected price: 9 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Tata Nexon CNG was first revealed at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo and is expected to arrive on our shores in the coming months. The SUV has been spied testing multiple times and will sport the dual-cylinder technology found in other Tata CNG models. The Nexon CNG will be equipped with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine and could be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options. It will likely come at a premium of around Rs 1 lakh over the petrol variants of the Nexon.
