Mercedes-Benz has expanded its electric vehicle lineup in India with the launch of the all-new GLC Electric at an introductory price of Rs 78.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries of the GLC Electric will commence immediately as well. While it shares its name with the ICE-powered GLC, the electric SUV takes a different approach with its futuristic styling and an all-digital cabin. This is thanks to the new MB.EA-M platform, which is based on an 800 V architecture.
It also gets a long list of technology and comfort features, along with a claimed driving range of over 700 km. Here's a closer look at what the new luxury electric SUV has to offer.
2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric: Exterior Design
The Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric gets a significantly distinct design from its ICE-powered sibling, with a more contemporary and futuristic appearance. At the front, the large illuminated grille with chrome detailing takes centre stage, while the curvy bumper features sculpted air vents and body-coloured inserts that add character to its styling.

In profile, the sloping roofline gives the electric SUV a coupe-like silhouette. The design is further complemented by flush-fitting door handles, a chrome side step and alloy wheels measuring up to 21 inches, adding to its overall road presence.

The rear gets an equally distinctive treatment, with connected LED tail lamps housed in a horizontal black panel.

The bumper features a silver diffuser, faux vertical air vents and gloss-black inserts, lending it a more dynamic appearance.
2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric: Interior
Step inside the GLC Electric and you are greeted by a modern, tech-focused cabin with a clean dashboard layout. The three-spoke steering wheel with touch-based controls and the srtiped wood-like finish give it a luxurious retro-modern feel. What is impossible to ignore is the massive landscape screen, which stretches the width of the dashboard and the lavish integration of ambient lighting all over the cabin.

Mercedes-Benz has also used a mix of materials to balance the digital feel with a touch of traditional luxury. These include aluminium inserts on the centre console and AC vents, along with faux wood trim. Buyers will also get multiple cabin themes to choose from, depending on the configuration.

Adding to the sense of space is the large panoramic glass roof, which allows plenty of natural light into the cabin. What is also a highlight in the cabin experience is the acoustic glass used for the windshield and windows, which enables them to cut out most of the noise from the outside, making the cabin quiet and serene.
2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric: Features And Safety
The GLC Electric gets a comprehensive equipment package, with a strong focus on convenience. Key features include a 39.1-inch screen, including the driver’s display, touchscreen infotainment and passenger entertainment display. It also includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

This comes paired with a 15-speaker Burmester sound system. The GLC Electric also includes powered and ventilated front seats, a powered tailgate, dual wireless chargers and customisable ambient lighting.

On the safety front, the GLC Electric gets up to 9 airbags, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, remote parking assist and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It has also secured a five-star rating in Bharat NCAP crash tests.
2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric: Battery Pack And Drivetrain

2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric Price and Rivals
The Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric has entered the Indian market with a price tag of Rs 78.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It is locally assembled at Mercedes-Benz’ Pune plant and is introduced as a CKD (Completely Knocked-Down) model. The Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric brings plenty to the table, from its distinctive styling and large MBUX Superscreen to a dual-motor electric powertrain. Its claimed range of up to 711 km also gives it a strong case in the luxury electric SUV space.
