MG Motor India is all set to launch the Windsor EV, its next electric vehicle for the Indian market, on September 11. And if you’re interested in getting one for yourself, unofficial bookings for the electric crossover are open at select dealerships. The Windsor EV will slot between the Comet EV and ZS EV in the carmaker’s lineup.
The MG Windsor EV is an electric crossover that’s basically a rebadged version of the Wuling Cloud EV. Spy shots and teasers have confirmed the presence of modern design elements such as connected lighting elements, a quirky looking silhouette and aerodynamic alloys. If you want to take a closer look at the MG Windsor EV, you can check out our gallery of the Indonesia-spec Wuling Cloud EV right here.

Recent teasers from MG Motor India have confirmed the presence of a panoramic glass roof and reclining rear seats that can be adjusted by up to 135 degrees. A snippet of the rear seat has confirmed that the Windsor EV’s cabin will be draped in black with gold highlights.

In terms of features, we expect it to be similar to the Indonesian model, which gets a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, powered front seats, multi-colour ambient lighting, a wireless phone charger and powered tailgate.
Passenger safety should be taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill start assist, electronic parking brake and ADAS.
In the Indonesian market, the Windsor EV is offered with a 50.6 kWh battery pack that powers a 136 PS e-motor. This setup delivers a China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC) claimed range of 460 km. In other international markets, there is the option of a smaller 37.9 kWh battery pack which delivers a claimed range of 360 km.

The MG Windsor EV is expected to be priced from around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). This puts it in contention with the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV400 and some variants of the Tata Curvv.
