Among the many luxury SUVs in their fleet, the Ambanis have opted for the Defender in the 110 body style for the modification!

The Ambani family is renowned not just in India but also worldwide. Among the many things they are known for, owning lavish and swanky cars is surely one of them. Folks in Mumbai might have already witnessed the Ambani convoy on a few occasions, and we can confirm that their car collection is among the best in the nation. Some of the top names in the Ambani garage include a fleet of Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, Lamborghini Urus, Rolls-Royce Cullinans, Ferrari Purosangue, Maybachs and a lot more!

In a recent video that surfaced online, Ambani’s Land Rover Defender in the 110 body style was seen on a trailer, but it wasn't just any other Defender 110. It was modified with a chopped-off roof and completely repurposed to be used as a safari vehicle.

As one can see in the video above, all the pillars of the Defender have been removed along with the roof, and metal bars have been installed to support the protective roof. Additionally, the upper half of the rear has also been chopped off. Plenty of seats have been fitted in, and the 360-degree open view is ideal for your safaris.

We suspect that the Safari version of the Defender could be used at Vantara, Jamnagar. Vantara is a 3000-acre animal shelter launched by Anant Ambani and is also set to serve as a large zoo. It is located within Reliance's Jamnagar Refinery Complex, also known as the Green Belt of Gujarat. Vantara focuses on rescuing, nurturing and providing top-notch facilities for animals in order to preserve wildlife and save animals from human exploitation.

A Little About The Defender…

The Land Rover Defender used in the conversion is finished in a Tasman Blue hue and is in the Defender 110 body style. The Defender 110 comes with multiple engine options, including a 2-litre petrol, a 3-litre diesel engine and a V8 petrol engine!

The Defender is priced from Rs 1.03 crore to Rs 1.57 crore (ex-showroom) and competes with the likes of Jeep Wrangler while being an off-roading alternative to the BMW X7, Volvo XC90, and Mercedes-Benz GLS.

Earlier, we have seen Maruti Gypsy, Isuzu D-Max, Mahindra Bolero and even Force Trax as the choice for safari vehicles, but no one would have imagined something as premium and luxurious as the Land Rover Defender to become a Safari vehicle. Well, with the Ambanis around, anything and everything is possible!

Ironically, Defender is one vehicle which is known to introduce something known as the Alpine Light Windows, which were idealised as additional windows useful for safaris.

What do you think about the conversion? Which other SUV would you like to see getting converted? Let us know in the comments.
