If taking the Defender on a long and scenic road trip was one of the items in your bucket list, you now have the chance to do so, without owning one! Defender has launched the fourth edition of its Defender Journeys programme where the carmaker will take you on curated self-drive expeditions with a fleet of Defender 110 SUVs. Let’s take a look at what you should know:
Just like previous editions of the Defender Journeys, Participants will be taken on a bunch of scenic, cross-country adventures with tailored lifestyle experiences and curated itineraries. Starting from January 2026, you can choose from 9 destinations and 23 journeys ranging from Ladakh and Spiti Valley, to the Thar desert and even the Konkan region in coastal Maharashtra.

As part of the experience, participants will be driving the Defender 110 and get to experience it across a range of diverse landscapes and terrains to fully explore its capabilities first-hand.
Interested customers will have to pay an all-inclusive fee of Rs 5.5 lakh (before GST) per couple to participate in the journey, which includes luxury 5-star accommodation, meals and the use of the Defenders throughout. Drivers need to be of at least 19 years of age and hold a valid driver’s license for at least one full year to take part in this expedition. Participants will also be having three instructors on ground to guide and help you whenever needed.

The Defender 110 is one of the British carmaker’s most popular SUVs globally. On the outside, it gets a retro-inspired design with classic upright SUV proportions including a flat bonnet, tailgate-mounted spare wheel and flared fenders with thick cladding. Inside, it carries forward an off-road focused, yet opulent theme with a boxy dashboard and quality materials.

In terms of equipment, it gets a 13.1-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charger, three-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and a soft-closing tailgate. Safety features include multiple airbags, a Level 2 ADAS suite, a host of electronic assists and a 360-degree camera with 3D surround view.

Under the hood, the Defender 110 is powered by a range of turbo-petrol and diesel engines with automatic transmissions. You can also get the Defender 110 in the high-performance off-road-focused Octa version with a 4.4-litre V8 engine underneath. It also gets an all-wheel drive system as standard in all versions for enhanced capabilities.
The Defender, ever since its launch, has been the posterboy of retro-styled SUVs and remains incredibly desirable with long waiting periods and high demand. This Defender Journeys expedition is a good way to thoroughly experience the luxury SUV in its natural habitat, which is exploring diverse terrains on cross-country road trips. And with Defender itself curating the experience, a good time is assured. If you are interested, book your expedition as soon as possible since slots are limited and they fill up quickly.
