The Defender Octa is designed for those who demand presence while prioritizing off-road prowess. Its elevated ride height (28 mm higher than the standard model), broader stance (68 mm wider than the standard model), a 323-metre ground clearance and extended wheel arches exude a commanding appeal on the road. For added toughness, the Defender OCTA features redesigned bumpers that enhance approach and departure angles.
Exclusive paint options like Petra Copper and Faroe Green add to the distinctiveness, while an optional matte protective film provides an extra layer of durability. There are carbon fiber accents throughout the exterior and a diamond-shaped Octa badge on the C-pillar for further distinctiveness. Notably, the Defender OCTA will also be available with optional 22-inch alloy wheels (standard: 20-inch wheels) and will be sold exclusively in the five-door 110 body style.
Inside, the Defender OCTA retains the familiar cabin theme of the standard model but takes it further by blending luxury with toughness. The Octa Edition One boasts a dual-tone Khaki and Ebony interior, while the standard Octa variant offers a choice between Burnt Sienna or Light Cloud color scheme options.
Front-row passengers benefit from performance seats that come with enhanced bolstering for better support and a more engaging driving experience. Additionally, the Body and Soul Seat audio technology integrates haptic motors, and lets occupants feel the sound for a richer experience.
Land Rover has equipped the Defender Octa with features such as an 11.4-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, wireless Android Auto/ Apple CarPlay compatibility, 14-way adjustable seats, heated and ventilated seats, a 15-speaker Meridian sound system, three-zone climate control, and a head-up display.
Safety is taken care of with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera system, and ADAS with features such as adaptive cruise control, blind spot assist, and rear pre-collision assist.
The Land Rover Defender Octa is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo mild-hybrid V8 petrol engine that puts out 635 PS and 750 Nm, making it the most powerful Defender yet. With launch mode engaged, the torque increases to 800 Nm, enabling it to sprint from naught to 100 kmph in just 4 seconds. It is mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission, coupled with a four-wheel drive system.
The Defender Octa enhances driving performance with a 6D Dynamics suspension that adapts in real time, reducing body roll on roads and improving wheel movement off-road. It also features stronger, longer wishbones for added stability and comfort.
For rough terrain, Octa Mode adjusts suspension, steering, and throttle for better capability, while Off-Road ABS improves braking on loose surfaces like gravel and sand. It also boasts 400 mm front brake discs with Brembo calipers for strong stopping power.
The Land Rover Defender Octa locks horns with the BMW XM, Audi RS Q8 and Porsche Cayenne.
The Defender Octa is the ultimate beast with superior performance and off-roading capabilities, complemented with a macho design and aggressive styling. The interior too offers all the premium amenities and safety features ensuring that you enjoy the SUV in utmost comfort. The most capable Defender Octa is the one to pick if you want the best out of the Defender and enjoy the goodness of V8!
