Quick News Highlights:
- Triumph is launching a new 800cc bike on October 22, 2024
- Not many details are currently available about the upcoming motorcycle
- Whether it could be an 800cc supersport or an ADV, it’s all speculative at this point
Triumph has shared a teaser of an upcoming bike and has also revealed that the bike will be launched on October 22, 2024. The teaser only shows the number “800” written on a tank with sharp design lines.
Due to the limited information available about the bike till now, we can only speculate as to what Triumph might launch in October 2022. One possibility is that the manufacturer could use the Triumph Street Triple 765’s engine and increase its capacity to about 800cc and probably launch a Daytona 800 based on that platform. The latest iteration of the Street Triple 765 arrived last year and it doesn’t really make sense for Triumph to launch the next-generation model of that bike so soon.
Also, the British manufacturer has received some backlash from enthusiasts of the legendary Daytona 765 when it launched the new Daytona 660 at the start of the year. The Daytona 660 is more a sports tourer than a hardcore supersport like the Daytona 765, so launching an 800cc supersport might appease those enthusiasts.
The other possibility is Triumph launching an 800cc ADV based on the Tiger 850 Sport’s 888cc, in-line 3-cylinder engine. They could call it the Tiger 800 and it could be powered by a detuned version of the 850 Sport’s engine. This could make it more accessible for potential customers to own an 800cc Tiger for whom the Tiger 850 or even the Tiger 900, for that matter, is a big step up from their current bikes. It’s all speculative at the moment about the upcoming 800cc bike from the British manufacturer and here’s hoping that it turns out to be a good surprise for us all.
