If you are in the market shopping for a car, and none of them are really turning out to be your “ideal” buy, then this article might just help solve that. We take you through the list of the 5 interesting upcoming cars that are set to hit the Indian roads in 2025. The list includes some EVs, a 7-seater SUV, the return of an iconic nameplate and more…
So without further ado, let’s begin…
The Maruti e Vitara is expected to be launched in September, and its pricing can start from Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom). The e Vitara is a crucial launch for the Indian automaker, as it will be their first EV to be launched in India. It boasts a rugged design language clubbed with modern styling elements.
The interior features a top-notch cabin with amenities such as a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a 10-inch digital driver’s display, a powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera system, and ADAS.
The e Vitara will feature two battery options - a 48.8 kWh and a 61.1 kWh battery pack. The larger one has a claimed range of over 500 km.
If you like the Grand Vitara, but it is too small for your family of more than 5 members, then the upcoming 7-seater Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara might just come to the rescue. Slated for launch by the end of 2025, the larger Grand Vitara is expected to get minor styling updates over the regular version.
The dashboard layout and list of features are expected to be similar to the 5-seater model, and the 1.5-litre strong hybrid and mild-hybrid powertrain options will also likely be borrowed from the 5-seater version.

Another Indian SUV on the list, a Tata this time. However, it is not just any other Tata; it is the reincarnation of the Sierra in 2025! The Tata Sierra is likely to be launched anytime in the second half of the fiscal year 2025-26. The Sierra name brings many memories, but it's not just a nostalgic product; it is also a modern SUV that appears to be well-packaged and captivating.
The exterior styling will remind you of the OG Sierra, especially from the sides, and its upright stance will appeal to those who prefer boxy-looking SUVs. The Sierra is first set to debut as an ICE model, followed by its EV iteration. We expect Tata to provide it with the 170 PS 1.5-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine, and it could also get the familiar 1.5-litre diesel engine. For more details about the Sierra, head over to the following story.
VinFast will be entering India very soon, and its debut model will be the VF6 compact SUV, which would essentially rival the Hyundai Creta Electric. It is expected to enter India in September, and could be priced anywhere from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.
The VF6 follows a minimalist design approach inside and outside, and looks unlike any other SUV in the current market thanks to its unique styling. It has all the features that you would want from a premium Rs 25 lakh SUV. The electric SUV gets a 59.6 kWh battery pack, which seems reasonable when compared to what its rivals offer. It boasts a WLTP claimed range of up to 399 km.

After the recent launch of the Clavis, officially called the Carens Clavis, Kia will also be launching an electric version of the MPV. The Clavis EV is likely to be launched in July and is expected to be priced from Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). Over the regular Clavis, it could get EV-specific design bits. However, one can expect the features list to be similar to that of the Clavis, which gets dual 12.3-inch displays, a premium sound system, powered and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and ADAS.

Powertrain specifications of the Clavis EV are yet to be disclosed, but one can expect it to boast a range of around 500 km.
The new-generation Kia Seltos could debut by the end of 2025. It would be priced from around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom), and one can expect a minor premium over the current version. As per the spy shots, the new Seltos will be larger and also have a greater wheelbase than the one that currently retails in India. Moreover, it will get refreshed exterior styling, and more features, including larger screens, and probably some extra features for the rear occupants. Powertrain options, including the petrol and diesel options, are expected to be retained.
It is also being speculated that the next generation of the Seltos might also get an EV powertrain!
The new e Vitara will be historic for Maruti, the Grand Vitara will be entering a new domain, while EVs like VF6 and Clavis EV will provide more options in the mass market. Moreover, the return of the Sierra could be a real deal. Which car are you most excited about? Let us know in the comments section.
