Tata Motors is gearing up to introduce the first facelift of its entry-level electric SUV, the Punch EV, in the Indian market. The Punch EV was a very feature-loaded offering right from the start, but a few more features could never be bad. The new model is expected to share some of its tech with its ICE counterpart, which has also received its first major facelift since launch a few weeks back.
While Tata Motors has confirmed that they will launch the new model on February 20, here in this story, we give you a brief list of updates and new features that the 2026 facelifted Punch EV could offer.
Tata Motors has released pictures of how the new front fascia of the Punch EV facelift will look like, and the design is similar to the outgoing model, but the black-coloured strip on the front bumper connecting the headlights has been removed in the new model.

It continues to get a closed grille, along with the split LED headlight setup and slim DRLs. There are very few design elements up front, and the overall appearance remains minimalistic. The facelift offers a fresh visual appeal with a redesigned scuff plate beneath the front bumper, which also carries a cleaner look overall. From the side, all design elements are the same, except a slightly updated design for the 16-inch alloy wheels.

The rear profile has not been unveiled yet, but it is expected to feature a new connected LED taillight setup from the facelifted ICE Punch, along with an updated bumper design.

Keen-eyed readers will also notice this all-new bright yellow shade which could be one of the additions to a revised colour palette.
On the inside, the Punch EV facelift could sport mildly tweaked elements in the dashboard layout and a new upholstery theme.

It could also feature extended thigh supports for all the seats, just like the ICE-powered Punch facelift launched last month. Besides this, it is likely to retain equipment like a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a two-spoke illuminated steering wheel, a rotary dial for the gear shift and a voice-enabled electric sunroof.
A major addition to the feature list could be the introduction of ADAS in the Punch EV facelift, which will make its safety feature list even more extensive. This ADAS suite could include features such as blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, auto-emergency braking, blind view monitor, front collision warning and rear cross traffic alert.
This feature could make the Punch EV appeal to a wider audience, especially those who crave the latest technology.
The new Punch EV facelift is expected to be offered with the same set of battery pack options, but with vigorous testing, Tata might have found a solution to increase the range without changing the battery capacity and keeping costs in check.
Currently, the Tata Punch EV is offered with two battery packs. Here are their detailed specifications:
|
Battery Pack |
25 kWh |
35 kWh |
|
Claimed Range (MIDC Part 1 + 2) |
315 Km |
421 Km |
|
Power (PS) |

122 PS |
|
Torque (Nm) |
114 Nm |
190 Nm |
While the Tata Punch EV is already very well loaded with features, it has always lacked a powered driver’s seat. Tata is expected to offer this feature on the Punch EV facelift, alongside ventilated front seats, which are already a part of the package. This feature could give the interior a more premium feel, with better comfort for the driver as well.

The Tata Punch EV is currently priced from Rs. 9.99 lakh to Rs. 14.44 lakh (ex-showroom). Taking this into account, the 2026 facelifted model could be priced from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Motors has confirmed that the 2026 Punch EV facelift will be launched on 20 February 2026, with deliveries starting soon after.
The Punch EV has only one direct rival in the form of the Citroen eC3, but it also competes with other electric cars like the MG Windsor EV, Mahindra XUV 3XO EV and its own sibling, the Tata Nexon EV.
If you’re in the market for a budget-friendly electric micro SUV, the current model already delivers a strong mix of safety, features, and high efficiency. And with expected stock clearance benefits, it might be an even more attractive deal, being the smartest time to pick one up. The facelift will surely bring in an updated styling and some new features, but buyers opting for the pre-facelift model will still not miss out much.
But speaking of the incoming new model, Punch EV is a car which is widely loved and preferred by families because of its value-for-money pricing and feature-loaded cabin. Tata is expected to load it with more and more features to stay strong in the ever increasing competition. Everything now depends upon the pricing, which will decide the fate of the Punch EV facelift in the Indian market.
