6 two-wheelers, 6 different flavours of riding

September 2023 was extremely eventful! It kept us on our toes and October promises to do the same. Surely, the sheer number of launches won’t be as much but they’re all exciting products. Quality over quantity eh? So here are six two-wheelers that October 2023 promises to bring:

Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is undoubtedly one of the most exciting upcoming bikes. We’ve not only seen ample spy shots, but also read homologation docs that have revealed more about the bike.

The bike will finally be making its way to India at an expected price of Rs 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom). As far as the rivals are concerned, it will go up against the KTM 390 Adventure and the upcoming Hero XPulse 400.

Aprilia RS 457

The Himalayan 450 has its charm as an ADV but nothing beats the desirability quotient of hot supersports, especially if they come from team Aprilia. And the RS 457 is a classic example of that. A punchy parallel-twin motor, premium hardware and looks to die for, it ticks all the boxes to make it an extremely desirable supersport.

Aprilia could finally launch the bike in India this month. It definitely won’t be cheap and we think its price tag could be around the Rs 4.25 lakh mark (ex-showroom). That said, that’ll still ensure it undercuts the exorbitantly priced Kawasaki Ninja 400 (Rs 5.19 lakh onwards), which is its primary rival.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650

Royal Enfield’s 650cc platform could get a new addition this month, the Shotgun 650. The platform currently houses the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650 and the Super Meteor 650, all of which are retro, laidback machines. But the Shotgun 650 could spice things up as a bratty bobber amongst its retro siblings.

It was last spotted in May this year and a recently leaked document revealed more about how much the bike could weigh! Check that out here. Royal Enfield could price it at around Rs 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Triumph Scrambler 400X

While Triumph did launch the Speed 400 earlier this year, its scrambler sibling, the Scrambler 400 X, is all set to be launched this month. And given the absolute killer pricing the Speed 400 carried, we expect the Scrambler 400 X to be priced very competitively too. It should carry a premium of around Rs 30,000 over the Speed 400, meaning it could be priced around the Rs 2.70 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.

New Ather 450S Variant

The Ather 450S could soon get a 156km certified range! A homologation document of the same was leaked in September and we think the scooter will officially be launched sometime this month. That really would address the one major pain point customers had with the scooter. Expect a nominal price hike over the current 450S ‘ Rs 1,29,999 (ex-showroom Bengaluru, including FAME 2 subsidies ) price tag. Rivals for the Ather 450S electric scooter include the Ola S1 Air, TVS iQube Electric and the Bajaj Chetak.

Kinetic e-Luna

Wrapping up the list, we expect the Kinetic e-Luna to finally debut this month. As for its specs, the top speed should be around 50kmph and the IDC range at around 100km. You could expect it to be priced around the Rs 80,000- 90,000 mark.
