  • Q. How is the performance of activa 5g?

Underneath the long and wide seat sits the same 109.19cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that has been powering the last few generations of the Activa. Performance too has remained unchanged, with 8PS being generated at 7,500rpm and 9Nm at 5,500rpm. The variomatic transmission, carried over from the 4G, is a reminder of how the Activa has always been tuned to suit city hauls. As a result, 0-60kmph is achieved in 10.55 seconds (9.36 seconds on the Honda Dio). And this choice of tuning is also reflected in the fuel efficiency numbers. The Activa 5G proved to be more fuel efficient in the city, returning 58.1kmpl. This makes it the second most fuel efficient scooter we have tested, with the most efficient being the TVS Jupiter, which returns 60.44kmpl. On the highway though, the efficiency level drops to 55kmpl, portraying its city-friendly engine character. So no real change here.

Good or bad is an interpretation against a requirement.Activa 5G is reasonable scooter which is reliable and is good for short city rides. It returns a decent fuel efficiency of around 35~40kmpl in city and is among the best in resale value.Riding comfort and braking are bad though.

  • Q. Which is better, Honda Activa 5G or Suzuki Access 125 in terms of mileage, performance, maintenance and service?
    Sukhmani
    Sukhmani | 5 months ago

I dont have any experience with jupiter. But I own honda activa. the power in the vehicle is sufficient but when it comes to the comfort and mileage then it is nowhere especially the front suspension of honda activa is more than worst. The balance and the comfort of the access 125 is also good. The engine of the access is very decent. Overall the honda activa is not a worth buying vehicle.

On paper activa does have an advantage it seems when it comes to the to mileage but in real life both activa and access 125 does similar numbers 50kml so access having bigger engine and better ride quality I would say access has better mileage

  • Q. Which one is better for a long drive and good mileage combination when compared with Activa 5g & Suzuki Access 125 & TVS Jupiter??????
    Milw
    Milw | 1 month ago

Honestly, none of these are meant for long drives. For long drives on step-through scooters one needs to buy something like Burgman400 from Suzuki. The relatively smaller tyres than motorcycles, shorter suspension travel, wind resistance, smaller fuel tank etc. will make scooters ideal for city commuting. Now if your definition of long drives are

The TVS Jupiter is the Honda Activa's biggest rival. Segment-first features make the Jupiter a popular alternative to the Activa. The frugal engine, comfortable ride quality and the fact that it is cheaper than the Honda Activa despite offering much more make it our pick as the best 110cc scooter on sale.

  • Q. Which scooter is better for hilly and plain area both - Activa 5G?
    Zigwheels
    Zigwheels | 1 year ago

Any scooter which has a healthy amount of Torque will be better for hilly terrains. But it does not mean a less torque motor will not climb this terrain. If you want to ride effortlessly then high torque scooters are advisable. You can opt for Aprillia SR 150, SR 125 or newly launched TVS Ntorq.

Ungeared scooters are only good for moderate hilly or plain surfaces. Most scooters fit this requirement. If a person resides near places like Western Ghats or Darjeeling etc., try 125 scooters or old (1st or 2nd generation) Activas.

  • Q. Is there any starting problems - Activa 5G?

Until the first service was done, we had some cold start issues. We were asked to use the choke, before cranking the vehicle. However, once the first service is completed, the issues disappeared.

  • Q. Which Scooty is good for girls with best ride quality with in 60 to 80 thousand - Activa 5G?
    Anshul

Best is to go with N-torq in the similar price range. My family is loyal to Honda so we have Grazia, Activa, Aviator. Now, i use these 2 vehicles on regular basis - Duke 390 and N-torq. SR150 which my brother uses. To be honest... I think SR150 is best but it is highly overpriced... Now lets come to the price section where activa belongs... So, after riding its all siblings... The best one is N-torq which is a TVS brand. I was a Honda loyal customer just like my family but N-torq is way better in every aspect so i had to move to N-torq. I would advice you the same to go with N-torq. It is the best choice.. You better take a test ride of all the three vehicles then purchase which one you feel best comfortable with....

Depends on what you want, if she is skinny then Jupiter or wego is best as it comes with telescopic suspension upfront can manage bad roads as well.

  • Q. Is Activa good for long term use and what is the mileage do you get?
    Israr
    Israr | 4 months ago

No activas are not good for long term use because after certain period of time bike starts to show some niggles and reliability issues for example because activa suspension duty are handled with fork suspension and rear relies on single offset shock arm, are more fragile for intense use and gets damage easily and completely ruins the handling and dynamics of the scooters which is dangerous, secondly because activas 110 cc engine is a carbureted model and if the engine does not heat up at cold starts then serious engine issues comes up, specially in winters engines struggled to heat up and required temperature and when not heated up properly engine will run lean, which is quiet bad for because that would seize the engine and some hefty repair bills, and its cvt gearbox with time and not proper service cvt gets from bad to worst being more laggy between steps ruining overall experience and sometimes cvt doesn't know when to keep the Revs up specially while driving steep roads it's steps up to quickly and engine runs economically this huge lag in power which also in turn is dangerous. But if maintained properly and regular check ups you might have a chance to keep it reliable as new. But i doubt that would happen considering type of service we get here

Around one lakh if you need a sporty commuter then tvs 160 and 1604v is a good option but 1604v is above 1 lac pulsar 150cc is quite good, Suzuki gixxer is brilliant as well but not as powerful as 1604v but if you just need a decent commuter then there are lot of commuters i would suggest Honda unicorn is better than most of

  • Q. Is Acticva 5G STD is value for money scooter?
    Milw
    Milw | 5 months ago

Probably. I've a Maestro and Jupiter at home. I feel Maestro is better value for money since it carries similar tech as Activa, while offering more. Jupiter is excellent to ride single and gives us 48~50kmpl in city (Metropolitan). Of the three, best ride quality is also with Jupiter. 5G is somewhere in the middle.. sort of a trade-off between ride quality, reliability etc.
