Honda CB300R Bike Latest Updates

Honda has launched the BS6 CB300R in India at Rs 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This makes the motorcycle around Rs 36,000 more expensive than the BS4 bike. Take a look at all the details in our launch story here. The high pricing is despite the fact that the bike is heavily localised unlike the BS4 version.

Honda CB300R Engine

The latest iteration of the Honda CB300R has been updated with a greener, BS6-compliant 286cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor. With the update, the bike now makes 31.1PS and 27.5Nm, while also benefiting from a slip-assist clutch. The motor continues to be housed in the same trellis frame sprung on a Showa 41mm USD fork and a rear monoshock. The bike rolls on 17-inch alloys, clamped by single disc brakes front and rear.

Honda CB300R Design

The overall neo-retro design of the BS6 Honda CB300R has remained largely unchanged -- it flaunts a circular headlight and a sleek tail lamp. That said, subtle touches like the golden finish for the USD fork and stealthier-looking grey side panels make the package seem more premium.

Key Features of Honda CB300R

Feature-wise, the BS6 Honda CB300R gets a negative LCD instrument cluster (with a speedometer, odometer, fuel level readout, temperature and time), a USD fork, a slipper clutch, and dual-channel ABS. All these are retained from the outgoing model.

Honda CB300R Competitors

The Honda CB300R locks horns with the KTM 390 Duke and BMW G 310 R. Another touring-friendly alternative would be the Bajaj Dominar 400.

    Solo riding

Have test ridden it, with a pillion as well as a pillion.. on typical Bangalore roads.Had been waiting for this bike for an year, to be launched in India. Was inclined towards it because KTMs are now too abundant in India. Below is my opinion (Please don"t mind if it just feels like an onion ;)👍:1. Very cool and calm engine. Definitely not as harsh as a KTM.2. Excellent build quality. Everything looks premium.3. Very comfortable rider"s triangle and agile for SOLO RIDING. I"m 5"11" and felt so comfortable riding.4. "Out of the Herd" design👎:1. Very bad GROUND CLEARANCE. Scratches almost every speed breaker of Bangalore, even for a solo rider. Softer suspension has also to be blamed here.2. Pillion will have a hard time holding on for his life. Forget about women, even men will have hard time. Thanks to the tiny pillion seat. Though it looks big enough in pictures, rider will occupy more than half of the place and pillion ends up sitting in air. Grab rails provided are useless.3. Due to light weight of the machine, with a pillion rider, the front part becomes so weightless and maneuvering becomes challenging.4. Despite the price, the bike looks tiny and doesn"t have the expected road presence. Being called a premium naked Street bike doesn"t just feel right for this machine. I"ve seen people cancelling their bookings after test riding it. Everything else is at ur discretion.

    Test drive

Done with test drive last week. The bike is very nimble because of its 146kg weight.Easy to handle in cities. While in initial the bike performs better but in top end it lacks compared to other bikes.Tank capacity is downside as it is only 9.7 litres. Those side panels also not fitted well. There should be pricecut just like cb300f as this one is also little costly.Overall i will rate it 3.8 stars only for its engine refinement its buttery.

  • Engine power

The pure technical excellence. The new Honda CB 300R is a marvellous piece of technology. It gets full points in comfort, engine power, pick up (0-60 km/hour in 4.5 seconds, 0-100km/hour (8 seconds max). The grip is really good. The control and handling are impeccable, and I would give it brownie points for the sitting height. It is suitable even for short heigh people. It is a very good bike.

Q. Which one to buy between BMW G310R and Honda CB300r?
  • The Honda CB300R is not available for sale in the market. As of now, there is no official update available regarding the launch. On the other hand, the G 310 R could be a good option if you are looking for a versatile and premium sports naked. It is a delight to ride in the twisties with enough power on tap to thrill you. It is also more affordable now, which bodes well for its positioning in the market. Wish it came with better tyres, though. For a better understanding of compatibility and riding comfort, we would suggest you to take a test ride. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership details.
Q. I am very confused between Honda CB300r and TVS Apache RR 310. I want a refined engine with good ride ability in city. I am also concerned with vibration issues on Apache RR 310, is it completely gone or still there?
  • I own a cb300r. Realistically speaking, you can cruise comfortable at 100-120kmph and get a mileage of 32. What more can you ask from a bike? I'm loving the refinement and the effort Honda has gone through to give the rider such a responsive bike. You can buy this with your eyes closed
  • 90% gone, but you cant compare RR310 with HONDA, i think you got what i mean
Q. I am looking for an update from Karzima ZMR 2010 model, had CBR in mind but now thinking about Mojo UT 300.
  • UT 300 is best in handling and sitting posture for city as well as highways with decent mileage of 30 to 37 Depends upon driving style and low maintenance cost too sure you can go for UT 300
