CB300R Key Highlights

Price: The Honda CB300R BS6 is priced at Rs 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), and is available in two colours: Matte Steel Black & Pearl Spartan Red.

Design: The overall neo-retro design of the BS6 Honda CB300R has remained largely unchanged -- it flaunts a circular headlight and a sleek tail lamp. That said, subtle touches like the golden finish for the USD fork and stealthier-looking grey side panels make the package seem more premium.

Features: Feature-wise, the BS6 Honda CB300R gets a negative LCD instrument cluster (with a speedometer, odometer, fuel level readout, temperature and time), a USD fork, a slipper clutch, and dual-channel ABS. All these are retained from the outgoing model.

Engine: The latest iteration of the Honda CB300R has been updated with a greener, BS6-compliant 286cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor. With the update, the bike now makes 31.1PS and 27.5Nm, while also benefiting from a slip-assist clutch. The motor continues to be housed in the same trellis frame sprung on a Showa 41mm USD fork and a rear monoshock. The bike rolls on 17-inch alloys, clamped by single disc brakes front and rear.

Rivals: The Honda CB300R locks horns with the KTM 390 Duke and BMW G 310 R. Another touring-friendly alternative would be the Bajaj Dominar 400.

  • The CB300R BS6 is powered by a 286cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC motor, which is slightly more powerful than the BS4 version, and that’s despite adhering to stricter emission norms. The updated naked makes 31.1PS at 9000rpm and 27.5Nm at 7500rpm. In comparison, the BS4 bike produced 30.4PS at 8000rpm and 27.4Nm at 6500rpm. Q. I'm now presently stuck on BMW G310R and Honda CB300R. I like the naked bikes and style and I want to know which one of these are smooth with gear shift, less sound, and which is more suitable for both city use and touring too?
  • Currently, the Honda CB300R is not available for sale in the market and is yet to get a BS6 update. On the other hand, BMW has managed to iron out the majority of the issues that stopped us from wholeheartedly recommending the Bavarian naked. It is a delight to ride in the twisties with enough power on tap to thrill you. It is also more affordable now, which bodes well for its positioning in the market. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test ride before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership details.

Q. Which one to buy between BMW G310R and Honda CB300r?
  • The Honda CB300R is not available for sale in the market. As of now, there is no official update available regarding the launch. It is also more affordable now, which bodes well for its positioning in the market. Wish it came with better tyres, though. For a better understanding of compatibility and riding comfort, we would suggest you to take a test ride. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership details.
Q. I am very confused between Honda CB300r and TVS Apache RR 310. I want a refined engine with good ride ability in city. I am also concerned with vibration issues on Apache RR 310, is it completely gone or still there?
  • I own a cb300r. Realistically speaking, you can cruise comfortable at 100-120kmph and get a mileage of 32. What more can you ask from a bike? I'm loving the refinement and the effort Honda has gone through to give the rider such a responsive bike. You can buy this with your eyes closed
  • 90% gone, but you cant compare RR310 with HONDA, i think you got what i mean
