Q. Which car is better, Scorpio or XUV500?
  • Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra XUV500 ex-showroom price starts at Rs 10.0 Lakh for S3 (Diesel) and Rs 12.57 Lakh for W5 (Diesel). ... As far as mileage is concerned, the Scorpio has a mileage of 16.36 kmpl (Diesel top model) and the XUV500 has a mileage of 14.0 kmpl (Diesel top model). Scorpio is solid buld at affordable price . It has an option of 140 BHP. Wheras XUV500 is more of luxurious and stlyish. XUV is has caugh more attention from people who drive sedans. Both the vehicle has got thier own followers.
  • According to me XUV500 because its a great car there is no such issue. Scorpio has less space than XUV500 and Scorpio's suspensions are more stiffer than XUV500. Xuv500 is a family car it's not made for hard offroading but if you want a offroader than you can have Scorpio
  • Scorpio is a more rugged suv of the two. it has a body on frame chasis and is very reliable off the road scenes. It is a rear wheel driven car. XUV 500 on the other hand is an urban suv and is has a monocoque chasis. it is also front wheel driven car and is more premium and better in terms of ergonomics, comfort and safety. choice is for you to make between ruggedness and comfort.

Q. XUV500 W7 or W9 which one to buy , is sunroof and alloy experience worth for difference of INR 2L
  • Sunroof on Cars...Today sunroof is attached to many top of the range models in India and advertisements specifically point this out as a premium feature...Well, my experience...I had used three makes of SUVs with sunroof - namely Landrover Freelander, GMC Envoy and Nissan Armada... in a country with climatic condition of extreme heat and dust, high humidity, cold and some rain... over a period of 12 years...I found sunroof utterly useless. Can't keep it open because of high wind noise above 40kmph approx... one of the cars the Freelander, due to lack of moment of the sunroof, the surrounding rail got rusted and water leaked in.The only slight advantage I found was that during extreme winter, keeping the shade of the sunroof open lets in sunlight which is enjoyable, but, the same is easily compensated by the heater in the car air conditioning...I wouldn't therefore never again waste money on sunroof...
  • Just another perspective. most of the features of W9 can be installed in W7 by asking the service Center guys to install those as additional accessories or as spare parts and it would be well under 2 L difference. The only option that you are unlikely to get is the Sunroof. I feel that it's not important enough here in India. So it's your choice on how you want to spend your money. Looks can be made to match with that of W11 as well by buying parts from M2All.
  • See if you are addicted to sunroof then you can buy W9 but if you are okay without it then W7 is great and there is no such issue with normal times but with allow wheels it looks great. If you don't want sunroof then buy W9 and there is no such difference in between these two models

Q. I am planing to buy new suv vehicle. XUV 500, Harrier or MG HECTOR PLUS which one is better for smooth and long drive
  • Hyundai Creta Diesel would be the best choice as per your requirements if number of seats doesn't matter. This 1.5 litre motor makes 115PS of power, which is 13PS down on the old engine, but while driving you hardly notice this fact. From the get-go, this engine impresses in terms of refinement and smoothness. There is very little turbo lag, which means gear shifts are kept to a minimum. This makes the Creta diesel-manual a stress-free car to drive in the city. Even out on the highway, the punchy nature of this engine makes overtaking easy and thanks to the tall gearring, it cruises in a relaxed manner too. The light clutch and slick gearbox makes your life even easier. In our performance tests, the Creta diesel registered decent times. In the 0-100kmph run, it took 12.24 seconds, which is a bit longer than the old car. But thanks to the good drivability, in-gear times were actually much better, with 30-80kmph in third taking 6.85s seconds. If we talk about MG Hector Plus, it is spacious, delivers better power performance and comes in 6-seater configuration. The 170PS, 350Nm diesel is a punchy motor and feels at home both in the city and on the highway. Sound and vibration levels are kept in check and while it is not the most refined version of the Fiat-sourced engine we have driven, it won’t leave you complaining either. Overtakes in the city are handled with ease and the motor proves to be plenty tractable as well. However, the gear shifts are a bit clunky and take a conscious effort to shift. Plus, the clutch is a bit heavy and will make you regret missing leg day in bumper to bumper traffic (if such a thing exists anymore). And then there is a tendency to stall while applying the throttle after overcoming a minor undulation. If we talk about XUV500, it offers good balance of power performance and driveabilit. As far as NVH levels are concerned, they are well controlled and the engine noise is only audible in the cabin when revved beyond 2,500 rpm. However, the same cannot be said for the Bridgestone Ecopia tyres which emit a lot of rolling noise with some of it making its way inside cabin. But that still isn’t bothersome and can be washed away with the audio system. Its clutch pedal is light, its long travel range will be irksome when driving in stop-and-go traffic. There is no hint of wobble or nervousness while taking curves at speeds north of 70kmph. It’s agile for its size, but while its steering is fairly accurate, it doesn’t provide great feel. The ride on the bigger wheels felt sporty but not stiff at any point. That said, the tendency of the XUV’s back end to feel bouncy over sharp bumps still remains. You may compare all these cars accordingly. Do take a test drive in order to get better clarity. Check out authorised dealership details.
  • Harrier 7 seater ( safari) first option which looks bigger on road and Hector plus looks better in interiors with same performance as Harrier. No Xuv please.
  • I don't know about others but don't buy XUV 500.. unreliable vehicle
