We have once again spotted the upcoming BSA Gold Star testing near Pune, Maharashtra. This is the second time that the retro roadster has been spotted in the last few months, hinting that the bike could debut next year in our market.
The test mule of the roadster was void of any branding, though it is clear that it’s a production-ready bike. BSA had recently revealed that it intends to commence the global rollout of the bike in 2023. So, we expect it to make it to our shores in the first half of 2023.
The BSA Gold Star is essentially a modern iteration of the original Gold Star from the 1970s. It flaunts the iconic British roadster styling with a round headlight, twin-pod instrument console, and generous use of chrome. However, it is thoroughly modern underneath.
It is powered by a 652cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 45.6PS and 55Nm, complemented by a five-speed gearbox. Here’s how it would fare against its arch rival, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650.
We expect the BSA Gold Star to come with a price tag of Rs 2.90 lakh (ex-showroom), which would put it square against the Interceptor 650 that is priced at Rs 2.88 lakh onwards (ex-showroom Delhi).
