Mahindra Navistar Launches 2 New Heavy Trucks

Mahindra Navistar has been making good inroads in the Indian CV segment and with the recent launch of two new heavy trucks; the company is now a full range CV player in the market.

Mahindra Navistar announced a promising line up of commercial vehicles at the Auto Expo in 2010. This news was followed by the company commencing production on the 25 tonner, MN 25 and the 31 tonner MN 31 late last year. As part of their growth strategy and continues impetus to the market, Mahindra Navistar have now launched two new vehicles, which not only expands their product reach but also opens new avenues in terms of catering to different CV segments.

The first product is the MN 25 Tipper, which is a 25 tonne tipper that is well suited for mining work as well as in construction applications. Priced at Rs. 23.26 lakh, the tipper is great value for money and allows the owner to start business from day one.  At the other end of the spectrum, Mahindra Navistar has rolled out a 40 tonne tractor trailer, the MN40.  The MN40 has long range hauling applications and promises a great turn around time for the end user. Priced at Rs 19.93 lakh for the tractor, Mahindra Navistar is looking at taking on the likes of Tata and Eicher that also boast of similar capacity tractors.

Apart from this, Mahindra Navistar intends on opening 100 dealerships over the next two years and the company has already commissioned 220 service points across the country. For added service, Mahindra Navistar has started a 24 hour call center called ‘NOW’, which will has  multilingual experts available to address issues and help enhance quick turn around time as well.

Speaking about the trucks, Rakesh Kalra, Managing Director, Mahindra Navistar Automotives Ltd., adds that the new vehicles further strengthen the Mahindra Navistar range as well as offer an affordable option to fleet owners. The vehicles promise to be comfortable, powerful and extremely rugged.

With the addition of these two new trucks, Mahindra Navistar has become a full range CV player. The focus is to enhance service infrastructure as well as sales outlets. By the end of March 2011, 45 new dealers will commence operations. With a promising future, Mahindra Navistar intends on playing a much bigger role in the CV segment in the coming years.
