India’s car market is set to be exciting, to say the least. Take the two biggies, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai, for that matter, who are gearing up to bring in some of their most important models over the next year and a half. From fresh facelifts to brand-new SUVs and EVs, both carmakers are readying products that could spice up their respective segments. Here’s a closer look at what’s coming.
Expected Price: Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom)
The e Vitara will be the first-ever electric product from Maruti Suzuki. The eSUV’s production has already commenced at the carmaker’s Gujarat plant, the first unit flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Maruti has confirmed that the e Vitara will be exported to over 100 countries.

It comes with two battery options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh paired with a single-motor front-wheel drive setup. Power outputs are between 142 PS and 174 PS, with a torque of 192.5 Nm. The claimed range for the larger pack is said to be over 500 km. Once launched in India in 2025, it will rival the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6 and MG ZS EV.
Expected Price: Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom)
There is word that Maruti is also readying a longer, 3-row version of the Grand Vitara, which has already been spotted testing. It is expected to feature a design revamp while extending the wheelbase and rear profile to make room for a usable third row. Features are likely to mirror those of the existing Grand Vitara, with highlights such as ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and connected tech.

Nothing is known about its powertrain yet, and it remains to be seen whether it will retain the two-row Grand Vitara’s options or introduce new ones. When launched in 2025, this SUV will rival the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV700.
Expected Price: Rs 6.80 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Maruti Baleno is long due for an update, and while it may not arrive this year, the popular premium hatchback is expected to get a facelift next year. Not many details are known about the updated Baleno, and it hasn’t been spotted testing yet, but rumours suggest it could introduce a new powertrain option with a CVT gearbox, along with design tweaks and notable feature updates such as a bigger touchscreen.

2025 Hyundai Venue Facelift Expected Price: Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom)
Hyundai Venue Electric Expected Price: Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Hyundai Venue is set for a major update with its second facelift, expected by late 2025. Earlier spy shots have revealed a wider grille, squared-off split LED lighting on the outside, and dual 10.25-inch displays inside borrowed from its larger siblings, the Creta and Alcazar.

It will likely continue with the same engine options: a 1.2-litre petrol, 1-litre turbo-petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel, along with multiple transmission choices. The updated Venue will renew its rivalry with the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, and Kia Sonet.
Besides, Hyundai might also bring the electric iteration of the Hyundai Venue.
Expected Price: Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom)
Hyundai’s flagship electric sedan, the Ioniq 6, is expected to arrive in India as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) by 2026. It is built on the E-GMP platform, and it offers a range of over 600 km WLTP-claimed range.

In India, it will rival the likes of BYD Seal and Kia EV6.
Expected Price: Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom)
Hyundai’s premium SUV Tucson is due for a facelift and the global model has already been revealed. You can expect it to come to India in late 2025 or early 2026 with a sharper design, new lighting elements and updated alloys. Inside, Hyundai will equip it with dual 12.3-inch screens and more advanced ADAS features.

The engine choices are likely to remain the same, though hybrid versions are possible. The updated Tucson will continue to rival the Jeep Compass, Volkswagen Tiguan and Citroen C5 Aircross.
Expected Price: Rs 45 lakh-Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is expected to get a mild facelift, which can probably make it to the market by October 2025. It will likely bring a bigger 84 kWh battery that’s seen with the new Kia EV6 and some other cosmetic tweaks, including a new colour option.

Hyundai will also likely update the cabin materials and its theme to make things look fresh while retaining plenty of its existing features, including the dual screen layout.
