With the e Vitara, Maruti Suzuki decides to take the well-tread path while foraying into the electric SUV segment. Instead of prioritising high-speed performance or innovative designs, Maruti has opted for simplicity and user-friendliness while catering to the needs of those buying an electric car for the very first time. These are the five features that really impressed us after getting to experience the latest offering.
The e-Vitara provides a driving experience that feels immediately accessible. Depending on the variant, it gets a 49 kWh or a larger 61 kWh battery pack, churning out 144 PS or 174 PS power, respectively, with 193 Nm of peak torque. There are no jolts in the power supply when you start zooming away in the e Vitara.

The throttle calibration works well, which makes it smooth to control the power delivery in stop-go traffic conditions, while the regen works in tandem with the braking mechanism smoothly. This translates to a car that is fun to drive. There are various modes of driving: Eco, Normal, and Sport, which allow the user to choose whether to prefer mileage or acceleration.
It is safe to say that design is rather understated than bold. It has got its proportions in place, with clean lines on the shoulder, flush handles on the doors, and even a closed grille. It has the look and feel of quality, although it doesn’t make much of an effort to stand out in this segment.

The design language seems more in tune with the NEXA brand from Maruti Suzuki: modern, elegant, and timeless. While it is not eye-catching enough in the way newer EV designs are, it carries a subtle sophistication that would please those who value subtlety over making statements.

Among the most thoughtful design elements of the e Vitara is the sliding second-row seat. With a wheelbase measuring 2700 mm, the SUV naturally has generous rear legroom, and the sliding mechanism ensures this legroom can also split the needs for accommodate passengers and luggage.

With the seats pushed back, ample space is allocated for knee room, perfect for taller passengers seated at the rear. Simply move them forward, and additional space is allocated for carrying luggage to airports as well.
The cabin is one of the best assets of the e Vitara. It comes with soft-touch materials, dual-toned upholstery, ambient lighting, and a well-designed dashboard, giving it a more luxurious feel than any of its predecessors from Maruti Suzuki.

In terms of comfort features, ventilated front seats, a 10-way power adjustable driver's seat, and a fixed glass roof skyroof all contribute to an open feeling. Even more space is provided by the flat floor, thanks to the EV platform.
The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara gets an array of features that encompass all the requirements of an electric SUV. This includes a 10.25-inch touch screen, wireless Android Auto and CarPlay, wireless charging, Type-C charging ports, and Infinity by Harman audio.

The connected-car technology through Suzuki Connect comes with remote monitoring and vehicle management, while the entire interface is easy to understand and use. What is most relevant is that the entire set of features feels integrated and not overwhelming, and it keeps the e Vitara simple.
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara can be said to be a success because it is doing something familiar, something for which Maruti Suzuki is known, which is making new, cutting-edge technology familiar. The e Vitara performs smoothly, its interior is flexible, its interior quality is top-notch, and its features are really appealing.
