The next big thing (quite literally) from Tata is its upcoming flagship crossover - the Hexa. To showcase the prowess of the Hexa to potential customers, the Indian automaker has started a new initiative called the ‘Hexa Experience Centre’. In this event, customers can experience Tata's latest first hand on and off the road. The experience includes tarmac driving as well as a challenging off-road course. Apart from the driving track, the Hexa Experience Centre also has a customer lounge, a dining area, special kids’ zone and even a pet adoption zone among other engaging activities. If the customers like the Tata flagship, they can even book one at the venue, ahead of its launch in January 2017.
The first of these experiences took place in Gurugram, (EO Huda Gurgaon II, Sector 29), from November 25-27. Next in line are similar set-ups in other metros and towns like Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. The course itself is made of steep inclines, declines, side slopes, axle twisters and alternate rumblers. Customers can either opt to drive or let a professional showcase the power, stability and the driving experience of the Hexa.
The four wheel drive system of the Hexa comes with four different driving modes – Auto, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough Road to help it tackle rough terrain. Also, the Tata Hexa is equipped with first-in-segment race-car mapping that provides a revving experience similar to performance cars. The Crossover is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine which will be available in two states of tune, VARICOR and VARICOR400. The VARICOR spec engine makes 150PS of max power and 320Nm of peak torque whereas the VARICOR400 makes 156PS of max power and 400Nm of peak torque (hence the suffix,400).
Mr Mayank Pareek, President – Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors said, “Ever since its first showcase, the Tata Hexa has generated a great amount of curiosity and excitement, resulting in an encouraging response for bookings across our dealerships. The spirit of Hexa is all about going out there and doing ‘what it takes’ to deliver an unforgettable experience. Further building on our customer engagement initiatives, we are now launching Hexa Experience Centres that will further enable potential customers, enthusiasts and their families to get up close and personal, with the feature loaded Tata Hexa.”
Mr Vivek Srivatsa, Head – Marketing, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors said, “The Hexa is very capable and we are supremely confident about the performance and abilities of the Vehicle. The ‘Hexa Experience Centre’ provides an opportunity to our discerning customers to experience the sheer width of capabilities of the vehicle, not experienced in a normal Test Drive. Besides trying out the Hexa, customers can also enjoy the attention and hospitality of other Tata Brands with friends and family. Through ‘Hexa Experience Centres’, we plan to excite and enthral our customers across the country, as we gear up for the launch of our flagship product in January 2017.”
When launched in the country next year, the Hexa is expected to be priced in the Rs 12-16 lakh bracket and will rival the likes of the Mahindra XUV500 and Toyota Innova Crysta.
