KTM has launched a limited edition variant of the 890 Duke, called the KTM 890 Duke Tech3 Edition, in France. As the name suggests, it is a Tech3 KTM Factory Racing team-themed edition of the standard 890 Duke, limited to just 100 units. The motorcycle costs 11,699 Euros, around Rs 10.54 lakh, making it about Rs 1.17 lakh dearer than the standard model.

The 2021 KTM RC16 racebike’s Tech3 MotoGP livery looks simple yet elegant. The limited edition KTM 890 Duke gets the same livery on its bodywork, along with ‘Ready To Race’ stickering just below the fuel tank. The bike also gets a Tech3-branded pillion cowl with a small cushioned rider’s backrest, and a belly pan, which, to be frank, looks more like an afterthought.

But more importantly, the motorcycle gets a proper Akrapovic exhaust as standard. That should make it a little more powerful and lighter, not to mention the epic exhaust note. The motorcycle continues with the standard tail lamp with integrated license plate kit. It looks a bit gaudy considering the bike’s sporty appeal. We would’ve liked it more had KTM offered a tail tidy kit as standard on this motorcycle.

The rest of the bike remains unchanged. To jog your memory, the KTM 890 Duke’s 889cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor churns out 115.5PS and 92Nm. It is reined in by a suite of electronics including four riding modes: Sport, Street, Rain and Track (optional); multi-level switchable cornering traction control, engine braking control, and cornering ABS with Supermoto mode. It also gets sophisticated underpinnings in the form of WP Apex inverted front fork, WP rear monoshock, twin 300mm front discs with radial caliper and a 240mm rear disc.
