The second round of the JK Tyre IndiKarting National Series recently concluded at Go - A karting circuit in Goa which had around 141 entries across all categories. Powered by Tata Motors, the JK Tyre IndiKarting National Series has been introduced to provide a growing platform for new racers and to further expand the reach of Motorsport. The National Series has been sanctioned by the FMSCI and is also largest Karting series in India & the world’s most affordable series of its kind.
In the Pro Senior category, the title was claimed by Aanjan Patodia from Pune who notched up three victories in as many races. Aaroh Ravindra was a close second place in each of the three races, but was unable to mount a challenge on Aanjan. Bengaluru’s Rahul Sharan managed third in two races while Rishab Rathi came third in one race.
The Pro Cadet category consists of the drivers belonging to the age group between seven and 12 years. Aadityansh Kaulshi from Pune achieved two victories in the first two races. Hoshmand Elavia from Mumbai did well to win the final race and also bag two runner-up trophies. Kogileti Saatvik earned a runner-up trophy in Race 1 while Ruhan Alva managed the third place on two occasions.
The podium was claimed by all Goan drivers in the Senior Open and Senior Amateur category. Akshay Hede, Niazam Ahmed and Tej Naik bagged the top three spots for the Senior Open while Sufiyan Shaikh, Ameen Shaikh and Digvijit Chavan claimed podium for the Amateur category respectively. The top three drivers of both categories will receive direct invitations to represent Goa at the National Final in Delhi in June.
The event also has a women’s category that had an impressive participation of 11 drivers. Amanda Gomes won ahead of Efigenia Miranda and Natasha Awhad.
Commenting on the Goa rounds, Rayomand Banajee of IndiKarting said, “It was great to see such a fantastic turnout from the Goans. They practically locked out the podiums in all the support categories. 141 entries is good for Goa & thanks to JK Tyre & Tata Motors, we have once again been able to bring motorsport to the masses”
The next round of the JK Tyre IndiKarting National Series will be held on May 14-15 in Vadodara, followed by its next outing in Ludhiana. The final round of the National Series will be held in the Delhi NCR in June.
