Honda hikes cars prices across all models

Honda has released the updated price list of its current product range in the wake of the new taxes announced in the Union Budget

Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) has announced the revised price list for its complete product range due to new taxes which are now applicable thanks to the Union Budget for fiscal year of 2016¬-17. As per the Union Budget, infrastructure tax will be applicable to all cars and SUVs sold in the country. Small cars which run on petrol, CNG or LPG powered engines are now applicable for an infra cess tax of 1 per cent. In case of diesel vehicles, 2.5 per cent tax will be levied on cars with engine capacity up to 1500cc and 4 per cent tax for the remaining vehicles above the mentioned slab. With that, an additional luxury tax of 1 per cent will be charged on all vehicles that cross the Rs 10 lakh mark.

Honda has launched the facelifted Amaze yesterday and it comes at a starting price of Rs 5,29,900 and goes up to Rs 8,19,900 for the top-end variant (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The mentioned prices for the Amaze are inclusive of the new infrastructure tax.

Honda Amaze Facelift

The current product offering by the Japanese manufacturer in the Indian market includes the Honda Brio, Honda Jazz, Honda Amaze, Honda Mobilio, Honda City and Honda CR-V. The line-up will soon receive an addition with the BR-V compact SUV and the Accord which were showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo held last month. Both the new offerings will be launched later in 2016.
