Citroen has teased its upcoming sub 4-metre SUV for the first time ahead of its global unveil on September 16, 2021. The Kia Sonet rival, which could be christened the C3, will be the French carmaker’s first made-in-India product.
The latest teaser gives us a glimpse of the subcompact SUV’s fascia. Like the C5 Aircross, Citroen has finely integrated its logo in the sleek grille, which flows cleanly and merges on to the DRLs. The rest of the design will be officially revealed during the unveiling.

If leaked images of scale models are anything to go by, the sub 4-metre SUV features plenty of traits from the C5 Aircross. This includes funky colour coordinated bits on the ORVMs and roof (orange in the case of C3), black cladding all around the body for that SUV look, dual-tone alloy wheels, and an overall silhouette that’s inspired by its bigger brother.
We are yet to have a look at the upcoming SUV’s interior. We expect it to come loaded with features including a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, cruise control, automatic climate control, a branded audio system, a sunroof, and keyless entry with push-button start.
Securing passengers should be multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with camera, and electronic stability control.

Citroen has confirmed its upcoming product will be a petrol-only offering. It should get a locally manufactured 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, paired with both manual and automatic transmissions. It will also be part of Citroen’s ‘C-Cubed’ (Cool, Comfort, and Clever) program. So expect it to feature a cushy ride quality.
Citroen’s sub 4-metre SUV is likely to go on sale in early 2022. With an expected starting price of Rs 7 lakh, the French SUV will lock horns with the Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and the Hyundai Venue.
