Citroen Basalt, C3 and Aircross Dark Edition launched

As part of boosting the sales and also following the trend of automakers offering Dark Editions, Citroen has launched special Dark Editions for its Basalt, C3 and Aircross. The Dark Edition mainly gives these models a stealthier appearance while keeping things unchanged in the mechanical or features department.
The legendary cricketer who is also the brand ambassador of Citroen, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has unveiled the Dark Edition lineup while also taking delivery of the first Basalt Dark Edition. Only limited units of the Dark Edition are available with bookings starting today (April 10).

Without further ado, let’s take a closer look at the Dark Edition models, their prices and what they bring to the table:

It is important to note that the Dark Edition models are based on the top-spec variants of the respective models. There is a price increase of Rs 19,500 (model-specific).
The Dark Edition changes are common across all models that boast similar design elements. The Dark Editions sports an all-black Perla Nera exterior paint which is an exclusive colour for the special edition. There are dark chrome elements on the badge up front, on the body cladding and the grille. Moreover, you get a gloss black finish on the bumper and door handles. These changes amp up the stealth factor of the three cars.

You get the same dualtone alloy wheels which add contrast to the overall dark look. The overall design and silhouette remains the same.
The cabin of the three models get an all-black theme featuring black seat upholstery. Furthermore, there are red stitching and accents for contrast and gloss black inserts at certain places. For a premium appeal, the Dark Edition gets all leatherette seats with the Citroen logo embossed on it and a leather-wrapped instrument panel.

The equipment list remains the same, and since they are based on the higher-spec variant you get features such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, electrically adjustable ORVMs, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, wireless phone charger and steering mounted audio controls.
The safety net also remains unchanged. The top features include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), rear parking camera with sensors, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
All three Citroens share the same engine options, and there are no changes in this department. Here is a closer look at the the specifications:

Do note that the Basalt and Aircross Dark Editions only come with the turbo-petol engine while the C3 gets both the engine options with the limited run edition.

With the launch of these Dark Editions, Citroen will hope to attract more buyers, especially those who want something more exclusive and unique.
