The iconic Kawasaki Ninja range of motorcycles completes 30 years in production and Kawasaki has unveiled a 30th Anniversary Edition 2015 Ninja ZX-14R to celebrate the anniversary year.
The 30th Anniversary Edition Ninja ZX-14R pays homage to the 1984 Ninja 900, the original King of the Streets and sports exactly the same two-tone paint scheme – Firecracker Red and Metallic Graystone as the 1984 Ninja 900. It even has the same narrow gold pinstriping and gets gold brake callipers.
The Limited Edition models will also get 30th Anniversary logos on the fairing sides and a numbered badge on the gas tank. Mechanically, the Limited Edition models will be identical to the standard version, with the same 1,441cc liquid-cooled in-line four engine with features such as ABS, three-mode traction control and two power modes.
Only 300 ZX-14R Limited Edition motorcycles will be available for purchase in the US and Latin American markets. To commemorate the anniversary year, Kawasaki has already released the ZX-10R and ZX-6R in 30th Edition graphics.
The 1984 Kawasaki Ninja 900 is considered the predecessor to modern-day sportbikes. It was the world’s first 16-valve liquid cooled in-line four cylinder motorcycle engine and was developed in secret by Kawaski for six years before its launch.
The Ninja 900’s 908cc four cylinder engine delivered 116.5PS, allowing the motorcycle to reach top speeds of 243kmph, making it the first stock road bike to exceed speeds of 240kmph.
