Revolt has launched the RVX in India, and at first glance, it looks like the same bike as the RV400, but on closer inspection, there are quite a few changes to the electric bike. Let’s have a deep dive:
Price
At an introductory price of Rs 1,29,990 (ex-showroom), the RVX sits in between the more affordable RV400 BRZ and the regular RV400.

What’s New?
The major change in the Revolt RVX is in terms of performance. With a reworked motor and chain drive, the bike does the 0-40kmph sprint in a claimed 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 90kmph (in the new Boost mode). That is 1.3 seconds and 5kmph more than the RV400. The claimed IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range has also increased, from 150km on the RV400 to 160km on the RV X.
Other changes include a new 3.5-inch colour LCD console with keyless ignition. Gone is the basic LCD screen, and in comes the new unit, which, at first glance, looks quite cluttered. But it does get all the connectivity features such as call/SMS alerts, music control, OTA updates, geo-fencing and more. Other convenience features include a hill-hold assist. The bike comes in three colour options: Pearl Black, Electric Blue, and Eclipse Red.

What’s Unchanged?
The overall design of the Revolt RVX is more or less the same as the RV400. Be it the oval-shaped headlight, the sharp tail-section or the muscular mid-section, the bike looks almost the same as its sibling.
The 3.24kWh battery pack, the inverted fork and the monoshock, and the disc brakes at both ends with CBS, are all carried over from the RV400. Apart from the new Boost ride mode, the RVX too gets the other three ride modes (Sports, City & Eco) and a reverse mode.

ZigSays
The Revolt RVX isn't a new motorcycle, but it is a sensible upgrade over the RV400. The improved acceleration, higher top speed, slightly longer claimed range, and a feature-packed new LCD console address some of the shortcomings of the older model.
What's even better is that these updates come at virtually no premium over the RV400 BRZ, making the RVX a more value-for-money option in Revolt's lineup. If you're considering an entry-level electric commuter with decent performance and modern features, the RVX is likely the one to pick over its siblings.
