Quick Read:
Gets a new paint scheme as part of the 2026 update
Otherwise, it remains unchanged
It is now more expensive by Rs 14,000
Kawasaki has launched the 2026 Ninja 650 in India, but calling it an update might be a bit of a stretch. This time around, the brand has added just one new element, and that’s a revised colour scheme. Beyond the fresh coat of paint, the middleweight sportbike remains exactly the same as before.
The 2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650 is priced at Rs 7.91 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the 2025 model was priced at Rs 7.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). At an Rs 14,000 premium, let’s take a look at what’s actually changed:

Only the colour. The only update on the 2026 Kawasaki Ninja 650 is a new colour scheme. Finished in Lime Green, it gives the bike a slightly refreshed look for the new model year. That said, the update feels even more half-hearted when you realise that Kawasaki hasn’t even shot fresh images of the 2026 bike. Instead, the brand appears to have photoshopped the older Ninja 650 with the new colour scheme, underlining just how minimal this update really is.
Everything else. The Ninja 650 continues to be powered by the same 649cc parallel-twin engine, producing 68PS and 64Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and an assist-and-slipper clutch. The chassis, suspension setup, braking hardware, and 17-inch wheels are all carried over unchanged.
It also retains the same upright yet sporty riding position, twin LED headlights, and the 4.3-inch TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. In terms of performance, comfort, and overall riding experience, the 2026 model offers nothing different from the outgoing bike.

With the 2025 Ninja 650 still on sale, our advice is simple: go for the older model and save yourself the extra money. There’s no difference in features, performance, or overall riding experience between the two. The amount you save can be put to much better use on quality riding gear, which will add far more value to your ownership experience than the new paint ever will.
