It’s not often that a bike or a scooter, be it electric or otherwise, is spied on and teased on the same day. But hey, I guess Ather keeps the surprises coming. Ather last month announced the introduction of the 450S, which is based on the 450X but with a smaller battery. The manufacturer has now released a teaser revealing what appears to be the (new?) console of the upcoming e-scooter.

Based on the teaser, it seems that the instrument console will be a digital LCD unit. Which isn’t surprising since the 450S is positioned as the most affordable e-scooter in Ather's lineup. It is already known that the 450S will have a smaller 3kWh battery pack compared to the 3.7kWh battery pack of the 450X, this dash could help lower the price even further. But according to the teaser, even with the smaller battery pack, the 450S isn’t compromising on the 450X’ famed performance and 90kmph top speed.

Regarding the scooter's exterior design, we anticipate and from what’s visible from today’s spy shot, it remains unchanged and looks like a 450X, but offering fewer features. The introductory price of the 450S will be Rs 1,29,999 (ex-showroom Bangalore). For reference, the Ather 450X is priced at Rs 1,65,435 and Rs 1,44,921 with and without the ProPack (both ex-showroom Bangalore).

Once launched, the Ather 450S will compete against the TVS iQube S, Ola S1, and the Vida V1 Pro, considering its price point.
