Quick News Highlights:
The upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400 has been spied testing in India. It should be based on the same platform as the Triumph Speed 400 and features the similar styling and headlight fairing as the bigger 1200cc Thruxton.
With a proper cafe racer stance, the spied Triumph Thruxton 400 features a frame mounted headlight fairing with a round LED headlight, inspired from the bigger Triumph Thruxton RS. Moreover, the bike seems to get clip-on handles, requiring a committed riding posture. It also has bar end mirrors. The side panels, exhaust and the tail section of the Thruxton 400, looks very similar to the Triumph Speed 400.
Since the upcoming Triumph Thruxton 400, is expected to be based on the same platform as the Triumph Speed 400, it should be equipped with the same 398.15cc, liquid cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 40PS and 37.5Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch. It also gets ride-by-wire throttle. Though a slight change in engine tuning could be possible to make it sportier.

The cafe racer is also expected to have the same suspension components and other underpinnings as the Speed 400 and that can be seen in the spy shots as well. However, the front suspension could be retuned to compensate for the increased weight of the fairing. It is likely to get a 3mm inverted fork and a gas-charged preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. The bike seems to have a 300mm front disc brake with a radial calliper, and a 230mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS.
The upcoming Thruxton 400 is expected to be priced similarly above the Speed 400, at around Rs 2.55 lakh. The bike is likely to be launched sometime in the first-half of 2025.
Once launched, the Triumph Thruxton 400X will be the closest alternative to the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250. Other alternatives in the 300-400cc segment include the KTM 390 Duke, Honda CB300R, BMW G 310 R and the Zontes GK350.
