Upcoming Ampere NXG Electric Scooter Breaks 2 Records During Ride From Kashmir To Kanyakumari

The Ampere NXG, an upcoming electric scooter from Ampere has entered the India Book of Records by breaking two records during its ride from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The two records include “making the biggest electric scooter brand logo drawn on the white sands" and "the first electric scooter to tow a pickup truck”. 

The first record was set in Dholavira, in  Rann of Kutch, Gujarat. A rider on the Ampere NXG outlined Ampere’s brand logo which resembles a navigation triangle. The logo covered an area of 17100 sq ft. This record was officially confirmed by the India Book of Records on 2nd February 2024.

The second record was confirmed on 3rd February 2024 by the India Book of Record and for this, the Ampere NXG towed a fully loaded pickup truck for a distance of 2 kilometers. The truck weighed 1860kg with an additional load of 140kg which is equivalent to that of two passengers. The record was set in Road to Heaven in the Rann of Kutch.

The Ampere NXG was first unveiled at Auto Expo 2023 as a concept  and we had also seen the e-scooter being tested recently. Although the electric scooter in its current form is called the NXG, we expect the production version to be called Nexus. Reason being that the manufacturer had filed for a trademark for this name in April 2023 and it is now listed on the trademark journal as ‘Accepted and Advertised’ indicating that the trademark authority has accepted the application.

The e-scooter is likely to come with an ex-showroom price that is between Rs 1.35 lakh and Rs 1.55 lakh. Customers can also pre-book the K2K (Kashmir 2 Kanyakumari) edition of the NXG directly via Ampere’s official website, for a price of Rs 499.
