TVS Motor Company has launched a new Midnight Blue colour option. It is available only on the top-end variant called TD - Special Edition, which is priced at Rs 1,72,700. Also, the base variant called SS is now priced at Rs 1,35,000, which is a price drop of about Rs 14,200 from its previous price tag of Rs 1,49,200 (all ex-showroom Delhi).
The new Midnight Blue colour option gets a glossy blue paint on the majority of the fuel tank and the side panel with a fluorescent slash separating it from the grey paint on them. As it is available on the Special Edition variant, the bike gets an all-black treatment, a windshield along with a USB charger and a throttle body cover. Other features available exclusively to the TD and TD -Special Edition variants (compared to the SS and DS variants) include dual-channel ABS, adjustable levers and an LCD instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity for call and SMS alerts, phone battery and signal status and turn-by-turn navigation. It also gets voice assist.
The TVS Ronin is powered by a 225.9cc air-/oil-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 20.4PS and 19.93Nm and comes paired to a 5-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch. The suspension setup consists of a 41mm inverted fork and a monoshock with 7-step preload adjustability. Stopping the bike is a 300mm front disc brake and a 240mm rear disc brake. It has a wheelbase of 1,357mm, ground clearance of 181mm, seat height of 795mm, kerb weight of 159kg (160kg in the TD and TD - Special Edition variants) and a fuel tank capacity of 14 litres.
The neo-retro roadster gets all-LED lighting and the SS and the DS variants get the LCD instrument console minus the connectivity. It rivals the likes of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, Jawa 42 and the Kawasaki W175.
