The Speed Triple 1200 RX Limited Edition is track-ready from the factory itself!

The Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS has always been revered for its impressive capability, be it the 1160cc inline-three engine, which makes 183PS and 128Nm, or its razor-sharp handling that will go toe to toe with other high-performance naked bikes. But Triumph has taken things up a couple of notches and has launched the Speed 1200 RX Limited Edition globally.

Limited to just 1200 units internationally (as the name suggests), the 1200 RX does not just get a new paint, but Triumph has tinkered around and has made it an even more serious track bike than the standard version.

Track Ready

The Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RX gets a set of clip-on handlebars and more rear-set footpegs, giving the rider a more committed riding posture. While it might not be as comfortable as the regular Speed Triple 1200 RS but on the racetrack, the aggressive riding posture will give the rider an edge to push the bike even more and get into the proper tucked-in stance for zooming down the straights.

While the fully-adjustable semi-active Ohlins suspension and chassis remain unchanged, the Speed Triple 1200 RX now gets an Ohlins steering damper to keep tank slappers at bay. Also, to allow the bike to breathe better, Triumph has also fitted the 1200 RX with an Akrapovic titanium exhaust, which is an optional accessory on the standard version. Oddly enough, despite having a new exhaust, the kerb weight of the RX is the same as the regular version at 199kg kerb.

The rest of the feature list on the RX is the same as the standard version, including a TFT display, five riding modes, brake slide assist, engine-braking control, a quickshifter, cornering ABS, and cornering traction control, as well as cruise control and smartphone connectivity.

Are Your Pockets Deep Enough?

Limited to just 1200 units globally, we might just see a few bikes allocated to India sometime soon. But if you live in the US and wish to own one, the Speed Triple 1200 RX will set you back by $21,495 (Rs 18.34 lakh), that is before you factor in the taxes. This makes it $1,500 (around Rs 1.27 lakh) more expensive than the ‘regular’ RS variant in the US. That’s good value for money for an exclusive limited edition motorcycle with useful ‘go-fast’ parts.

For reference, the 2024 Speed Triple 1200 RS available in India costs Rs 17,95,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
