Triumph Speed Triple 1200

Triumph has launched the Speed Triple 1200 RX internationally, and it gets a set of clip-on handlebars, rear-set footpegs, Ohlins steering damper and an Akrapovic titanium exhaust as standard. The bike is limited to just 1200 units globally and shares the same engine as the regular Speed Triple 1200 RS.

The Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS is the elder sibling of the Street Triple 765 and gets a 1160cc inline-three engine which makes 180PS and 128Nm. It is priced from Rs 17,95,000 and goes up to Rs 18,25,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is available in four colour schemes: Matt Silver Ice, Sapphire Black, Cosmic Yellow and Carnival Red.

The Speed Triple 1200 RS is equipped with twin 320mm discs at the front and radially mounted top-spec Brembo Stylema monobloc callipers and a single 220mm disc at the rear. Suspension includes a fully adjustable 43mm USD Ohlins NIX30 fork and Ohlins TTX36 twin tube monoshock.

In terms of features, the Speed Triple 1200 RS gets a 5-inch TFT console and a keyless ignition system. Rider aids include five riding modes (including one for the track), four levels of traction control, cornering ABS, wheelie control and a bi-directional quickshifter.

The Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS goes against the likes of Ducati Streetfighter V4, BMW S 1000 R and the KTM 1390 Super Duke R in India.
