The Government of India has recently announced that all motorcycles and scooters with an engine capacity of under 350cc will now receive a GST price cut, being taxed at 18% instead of the current 28% GST. Hero MotoCorp, which has its entire portfolio under the 350cc cap, is one of the biggest beneficiaries of this move.
The bikemaker has confirmed that it will pass on the full benefits of the new GST norms to its customers once they are enforced from September 22, 2025. So if you have been considering a Hero motorcycle, you are in luck. Here are the top 5 Hero bikes that will receive the biggest price drop once GST 2.0 kicks in:
Expected Price Drop: Rs 15,742

The flagship offering from Hero, the Karizma XMR, will be the one to see the biggest price cut. With the current ex-showroom price at Rs 2,01,500 for the flagship Combat variant, the bike could get cheaper by around Rs 15,742, bringing the new effective ex-showroom price to about Rs 1,85,758. That will make this special edition variant of the Karizma XMR an even sweeter deal for those who want a powerful, sporty yet practical motorcycle that can handle both city commutes and long rides.
Expected Price Drop: Rs 14,055

The Hero Xtreme 250R, currently retails at Rs 1,79,900, is another big winner under the revised GST regime. It is already the most affordable liquid-cooled 250cc bike, and it will get even cheaper - by about Rs 14,055, dropping its price to Rs 1,65,845. Targeted at enthusiasts who want a sporty-looking, value-for-money quarter-litre streetfighter, the Xtreme 250R is a serious challenger to rivals like the Suzuki Gixxer 250 and KTM Duke 250 after the new tax revisions.
Expected Price Drop: Rs 14,516

Adventure bike lovers, rejoice! The Hero Xpulse 210 is also set to get a significant price drop. Currently priced at Rs 1,85,800 for the top variant, the ex-showroom figure is expected to come down by around Rs 14,516, making the new price Rs 1,71,284. That will make the Xpulse 210 an even more attractive option for budding off-road enthusiasts looking for a rugged, affordable ADV.
Expected Price Drop: Rs 13,118

For hardcore off-roaders, the Xpulse 200 4V is the go-to motorcycle in Hero’s lineup. At present, the top-end variant carries a price tag of Rs 1,67,916, but once GST 2.0 kicks in, the price will go down by about Rs 13,118, making its new ex-showroom figure around Rs 1,54,798. The highest spec Xpulse 200 4V, called the Pro Dakar Edition, gets a Dakar-inspired colour scheme, extra suspension travel and rally-ready design. This one will be an even better deal for enthusiasts who want to take their off-roading to the next level, especially after the price drop it will receive.
Expected Price Drop: Rs 10,984

The street naked from Hero’s stable, the Xtreme 160R 4V, is at Rs 1,40,600 currently. The bike is expected to become cheaper by about Rs 10,984, bringing the price down to Rs 1,29,616. For those looking for an aggressive-looking, light, and punchy commuter that doubles up as a weekend fun machine, the Xtreme 160R 4V is already a solid choice, and will soon become an even more tempting one.
So, if you were planning to bring home a Hero bike, waiting a few more days could save you up to around Rs 15,700, and that savings could go straight into quality riding gear, touring accessories or fuel for your next big adventure. Do note that these prices are all ex-showroom Delhi, and are as per our internal calculations factoring in the GST differences.
