Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Review | An Extreme & Subtle Makeover

Competition in the 160cc motorcycle segment has increased a lot over the past few years and Hero has updated its contender by introducing the new Hero Xtreme 160R 4V. As the name suggests, it gets a new 4-valve head; and it gets new styling and a new front suspension in the form of a 37mm USD fork from KYB. The big news on the mechanical front is that the Xtreme 160R engine now gets 4-Valve technology and oil-cooling.

This has impacted the output of the engine as it now develops 16.9PS (1.7PS power bump), making it one of the most powerful bikes in the 160cc motorcycle segment, and torque has also risen by 0.6Nm. All these updates have also increased the weight by 4-5kg. The 2023 Hero Xtreme 160R comes in three variants - Standard, Connected 2.0 ((telescopic fork and single-seat) and Pro. With so many revisions, price has also been hiked as the new Xtreme 160R 4V now costs around Rs 8,000-10,000 more than its predecessor. So how have these updates impacted the motorcycle? We head to Jaipur to get you the answer.
