Nissan India is all set to add a new offering to its portfolio with the Gravite. The new Nissan Gravite will be a three-row MPV under four metres, and a badge-engineered version of the Renault Triber. While the model was originally slated for debut in January, the launch was delayed and is now scheduled to take place tomorrow, February 17, 2026. Nissan is entering a segment after many years, except for the ill-timed X-Trail, and the new Gravite will mark a new chapter for the automaker. Here’s what you should expect from the upcoming Nissan Gravite:
The new Nissan Gravite will be packing seven seats under four metres. While the underpinnings will remain the same as the Renault Triber, it will get a host of upgrades and an individual identity. Expect to see the V-Motion grille in line with Nissan’s design language. The bonnet will sport muscular lines for an imposing look, and the teasers hint at LED headlamps with split LED DRLs. There will also be the ‘Gravite’ badge on the bonnet, which several buyers tend to add as an accessory anyway. The teaser shows little change to the side when compared to the Renault Triber. Considering both models are underpinned by the same platform, Nissan seems to have made minimal changes. Given the budget stance of the Gravite, we expect to see a different set of wheel covers instead of alloy wheels on the MPV.

The Nissan Gravite will retain the tall stance, maximising cabin space, including a large rear quarter glass. The rear profile will get new wraparound taillights but no connected lights. The tailgate appears to get a chrome garnish and ‘Gravite’ badge in the lower section.
The Nissan Gravite is expected to have the same dimensions as the Renault Triber, which means the wheelbase will be identical as well. The cabin is expected to remain largely the same as the Triber, but with subtle changes to make it more Nissan-like. The Triber offers a versatile third with the seats removable to maximise on cargo room, which is likely going to be the case here as well.

You can expect 625 litres of boot space with the rear seats folded, along with possibly captain seats in the top trim.
The feature list on the new Gravite is expected to cover the essentials. This includes a digital instrument console, a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, multiple USB ports, push-button start/stop, a cooled glovebox, wireless charging, auto IRVM, a 360-degree camera, electrically adjustable ORVMs, and more on the top trim. We also expect to see rear AC vents with a USB charging port, multiple cupholders, and lots of smaller storage spaces. The sunroof is likely to be missed, much like the Triber.

The list of safety features will comprise multiple airbags, ABS and EBD, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist (AMT), Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and more. The Gravite has a chance to do certain things differently but it needs to be seen how much Nissan digresses from the Triber, in terms of adding more features and creature comfort.
Powering the upcoming Nissan Gravite will be the 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which produces 72 PS and 96 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 5-speed manual and AMT unit. It will be interesting to see if the Gravite comes with a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine from the Magnite in the brand’s lineup, bringing more power to the MPV. It could also open room for a CVT automatic option.

Expect a CNG version to be available right from the launch, but the CNG kit will be retrofitted at the dealership, as Nissan does on the Magnite as well.
The Renault Triber will be the upcoming Gravite’s biggest rival, and prices are expected to start around Rs 5.6 lakh, going up to Rs 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The Triber has identical pricing, while bigger MPVs like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Rumion, which are also badge-engineered cousins, are priced much higher.
The upcoming Nissan Gravite could just be what the brand needs for an extra lease of life in the Indian market. This will be Nissan’s second subcompact offering, and will set the stage for the automaker’s upcoming offerings, the Tekton compact SUV and a bigger seven-seater set to arrive in 2027.
