Although the Nissan Gravite is based on the recently launched facelifted Renault Triber, the former has done its part to set it apart from the donor vehicle. The Gravite comes with an SUV-like fascia, featuring a V-shape grille with a honeycomb pattern and the ‘Gravite’ lettering on the hood. Other details include LED projector headlights with sleek LED DRLs that are connected by a chrome strip, and C-shaped silver surrounds for the fog lamps in the bumper.

The Gravite looks the most identical to its donor vehicle when viewed from the sides. Since they are essentially the same models, both have common elements such as doors and window panels, door handles, roof rails, and even a hump in the window line near the C-pillar. That said, the Gravite is provided with a different set of stylised steel wheels to distinguish it from the Triber.

Its rear profile features wraparound LED lights connected by a chrome strip and ‘Gravite’ spelt out on the bootlid. The MPV also has C-shaped silver accents in the rear bumper to enhance its SUV-ish appearance further.
Things inside the Gravite’s cabin are pretty similar to those in the Triber's cabin. It has a layered dashboard layout, a 3-spoke steering wheel, sleek central and side AC vents, and dual digital displays. Thankfully, Nissan has chosen to retain the circular knobs for climate controls from the Renault Triber in the Gravite.

The Gravite is equipped with the same amenities as the Triber: an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, and a manual AC. It also gets push-button start/stop, a wireless phone charger, and cruise control.

In terms of passenger safety, the Gravite is loaded with tech such as electronic stability control (ESC), ABS with EBD, six airbags (as standard), a rear parking camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and rain-sensing wipers.
Nissan is offering the Gravite with the same engine and gearbox options as the Renault Triber. It is a 1-litre naturally aspirated (N/A) petrol engine putting out 72 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT.

The Nissan Gravite takes on the Renault Triber, while also serving as an affordable alternative to the Kia Carens and Carens Clavis, as well as the Maruti Ertiga and XL6.
The Nissan Gravite is an important product for Nissan India as they navigate with their revitalised strategy and renewed focus. At this price point, it does feel quite value for money.
