After many years of rumours and spyshots, Nissan has finally launched its latest product in India, which is an MPV called the Gravite. With a competitive starting price of Rs 5.65 lakh (ex-showroom), Nissan clearly wants it to be the 7-seater of choice for entry-level family buyers. It brings forward a spacious interior, bold styling and a long feature list for the segment, which makes it quite an attractive option to pick at the lower-end of the market.
If you’re one of the prospective customers wanting to bring home the new Gravite, here is all you need to know about the booking process:
Nissan offers the Gravite in a range of five variants, with manual and AMT gearbox options. Here is a look at the detailed pricing:

Based on the Renault Triber, the Gravite is Nissan’s first product as part of its strategy to revive its India operations. In terms of styling, the MPV features a larger grille, silver ‘C-shaped’ accents on the bumper, slim LED DRLs and a sculpted bonnet. The side profile gets new stylized steel wheel covers and prominent roof rails to add some road presence.

The rear-end features LED taillamps with a ‘smoked’ effect, a heavily cladded bumper with ‘C-shaped’ silver elements and a chrome strip below the ‘Nissan’ badge.

Inside, it gets the dashboard layout of the pre-facelift Triber and a tri-tone white, blue and black cabin theme to add to it. Just like its French cousin, it retains the flexible 7-seat layout with a removable third row of seats and dedicated AC vents for the second and third rows too.

Some feature highlights of the Gravite include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless smartphone charger, 4-speaker sound system, cruise control, semi-digital instrument cluster, auto headlamps and rain-sensing wipers.

Safety-wise it is equipped with 6 airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, hill start assist, rear view camera and front and rear parking sensors.
Under the hood, the Gravite is powered by a 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which comes mated to 5-speed manual and AMT transmission options. Here are their detailed specifications:

Notably, Nissan has revealed that it is working on a dual-cylinder CNG-powered Gravite as well, but the exact launch date remains unconfirmed.
The Nissan Gravite directly competes with the Renault Triber, but can also be a more affordable option to the likes of the Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Rumion and Kia Carens.

Given the Triber’s success in the past few years, it is a no-brainer that Nissan chose this segment to kick off its refreshed India innings, and with a competitive price, long list of features and the 7-seat layout, it has a lot of tricks up its sleeve. If you are looking to bring one home, we suggest booking it as soon as possible to avoid long waiting periods and also get the benefit of the limited ‘Launch Edition’ which has some useful additions to make life that much easier.
