KTM 200 Duke Now Offered With Free Riding Jacket

KTM India has just announced on its social media channels that if you purchase a 200 Duke you will get a KTM-branded riding jacket for free. Upon taking a closer look, it seems to be a KTM-branded version of the Rynox Cypher GT. This is evident from the design of the jacket as well as of the reflective stripes on the front of the jacket. 

KTM Riding Jacket

KTM has not yet officially announced the details of the jacket. However, the aforementioned Cypher GT is a mesh jacket with removable CE Level 2-certified shoulder, elbow, and back protectors. It has adjustable sleeve girth for a snug fitment. While it has pockets for chest protectors, they are not offered as standard. Same should apply to the KTM-branded jacket if it is a rebranded one.

That said, we contacted KTM dealers in multiple cities but the value and specs of the KTM-branded jacket specified by them is quite inconsistent. However, the Rynox-branded jacket is priced at Rs 4,950 on the brand’s site. The KTM-branded jacket seems to be only available as part of the deal, and might not be sold separately. If it is, we can expect it to have a slight premium over Rynox’s pricing. 

KTM 200 Duke

The 200 Duke is one of the best-selling KTM bikes in India, and is priced at Rs 2,05,761 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The street naked motorcycle gets an aggressive design language with sharp tank extensions and a sporty-looking LED headlight. The KTM 200 Duke is powered by a 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which makes 25PS and 19.3Nm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle returns a real-world tested mileage of 35kmpl which gives it a range of more than  400km on a full tank of fuel. It gets an inverted telescopic fork and a preload-adjustable monoshock. Braking is handled by a 300mm disc at the front and a 230mm disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS.. 

The KTM 200 Duke comes with a TFT display which is the same unit as the 390 Duke. Other features include an all-LED lighting setup, a dedicated supermoto mode which switches the rear ABS off, a USB-C charging port, Bluetooth smartphone connectivity which allows for call & SMS alerts, music control, and turn-by-turn navigation.

The KTM 200 Duke is already an easy-to-recommend bike with its performance, features, and price, and now, the Jacket just rounds off the safety quotient. Money saved from not having to purchase a jacket separately can be invested in some other riding gear. Rynox has been making some good riding gear and we can expect this to be in the same league if it is indeed a rebranded version.
