Here’s all we know about the X350 so far

(Update: Harley-Davidson has launched the X 350 in China. Check out what it packs in our launch story.)

Harley-Davidson is all set to launch its small-capacity bike, the X350, in China today. It is developed in collaboration with China-based Qianjiang Motors and is based on the QJ Motor SRK350. Here’s all that we know.

Design

For starters, the Harley-Davidson X350 employs a really sporty roadster design language, offering an upright riding posture, but with slightly rear set footpegs. The sleek fuel tank and sharp tail section only add to the sporty appeal of the bike. In a lot of ways, it looks like a smaller sibling of the Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200.

Underpinnings

The H-D X350 comes with the same trellis frame and tubular swingarm as the QJ SRK350. Even the USDs and the monoshock suspension are retained, along with the dual petal discs up front and the single petal disc at the rear. However, the alloy wheels are different. Expect it to be equipped with a dual-channel ABS as standard.

Engine

Harleys are known for the air-cooled V-twin engines; however, this QJ Motor-derived bike sports a 353cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor. It will roughly produce 36PS, with a claimed 143kmph top speed and 195kg kerb weight.

Features

It features a single-pod analogue console with a small digital inset that looks similar to the Harley-Davidson Sportster S, and also comes equipped with LED headlight with an LED DRL, taillight and indicators. The bike is unlikely to be equipped with smartphone connectivity or navigation.

Availability

The Harley-Davidson X350 appears to have started arriving at dealerships in the US. However, it is unlikely to debut in India, mainly due to the small-capacity motorcycle that Harley's developing in collaboration with Hero MotoCorp. The first collaborative product should debut in 2024.
