Check Out The Three Cars That Were Launched This Week…

The Indian auto industry has been super busy recently, and the past week was no different. We saw three different new car launches, all catered to a completely different audience. In this report, we take a look at all the new launches and their specifications in detail.

MG M9

The week started with the launch of the luxurious MG M9, priced at almost Rs 70 lakh! The M9 became the first car to be sold via MG’s new ‘Select’ showroom. Its premium design and large dimensions give it a lot of road presence, while its sophisticated interior and extra-luxurious second row is for those who want a lounge-like experience while traveling. 

If you want to be chauffeured around, the M9 is among the best and most practical MPVs that you can buy with all top-notch features. Moreover, its third row is also actually usable, even for large-sized adults. 

The M9 is powered by a 90 kWh battery paired to a single front-mounted motor delivering 245 PS and 350 Nm. MG claims a CLTC-certified range of 540 km, though in real-world conditions, a range of around 420–450 km would be more realistic.

The M9 does not have any rivals in the EV space, but is a more affordable alternative to the likes of the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire. To know more about the M9, tap here. 

Renault Triber Facelift

Another MPV was launched, a more affordable and mass-market one this time. The Renault Triber which has been in the market for around 6 years, got its first major facelift update. The facelift brought in new styling that features a new blacked-out grille, new Renault logo, a new set of stylized wheels and some minor tweaks to the LED tail lights as well. 

The interior too saw some revisions, with a new colour scheme for the upholstery and extra features including cruise control, auto headlamps and rain-sensing wipers. The powertrain remains unchanged, and it continues to get the same 1-litre petrol engine which makes 72 PS and can be had with both manual and AMT options. 

Priced at from Rs 6.3 lakh (ex-showroom), the Triber continues to be a more affordable alternative to the likes of Maruti Ertiga and XL6.

MG Cyberster

A noteworthy launch, especially if you are an enthusiast and you like fast cars. Joining the M9 MPV, the Cyberster has also been launched in the same week, at Rs 74.9 lakh (ex-showroom). The Cyberster can be yours for a lower price of Rs 72.49 lakh if you had already reserved it. Deliveries commence from August 10. 

The Cyberster has that complete sportscar appeal, with a sleek and stylish two-door silhouette and modern styling elements that further enhance the appeal. The Cyberster’s convertible roof, arrow-shaped LED tail lights and scissor doors add to its charm and you also get a very exciting interior featuring a fighter jet inspired design. 

It also gets some premium features like four displays, heated and powered seats with memory function, an 8-speaker Bose audio system, and automatic climate control. 

With its dual motors churning out 525 PS, it goes from 0-100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds! The Cyberster comes with a 77 kWh battery pack, offering an MIDC claimed range of 580 km. To know more about the Cyberster, head over to the following story. 

The Triber, which is the most affordable MPV, is now slightly more desirable and can be considered by those who want a 7-seater on a budget. The M9 and Cyberster will help in establishing a premium image for MG in India, and are two well-priced and well-packaged cars for what they offer.
