First Glimpse Of Renault Triber Facelift Ahead Of Launch! All You Need To Know!

The Renault Triber facelift is set to arrive on our shores tomorrow, and ahead of its launch, the carmaker has released a teaser revealing certain details of the MPV. The Triber is the most affordable MPV on our shores, and it is set to become more stylish as the facelift will bring in necessary cosmetic tweaks. 

Ahead of the launch, here’s a look at what the teaser reveals and the other details of the facelifted model decoded over time from its multiple spy shots…

Renault Triber Facelift: Design Changes

The teaser didn’t reveal much, save for certain new design elements up front and at the rear. The fascia comes with the new Renault 2D logo, finished in brushed aluminium. One can also see the new design for the grille which is now finished in gloss black, and has become a lot sleeker.

The rear end of the Triber sports a new LED tail light setup which seems to be connected by a gloss black finish in the centre. You get ‘Triber’ lettering in the middle, finished in brushed aluminium treatment. Moreover, it also gets a chunkier bumper with a rugged silver skid plate for added contrast. It will likely come with a projector LED headlight up front, including LED fog lamps as well. Other than this, we expect the Triber facelift to get refreshed alloy wheels as well. The silhouette and the overall dimensions are expected to be similar to the pre-facelift model. 

One can also expect new colour options to be offered including this bright red hue as seen in the teaser. 

Renault Triber Facelift: Interior And Features

The interior of the Triber facelift has not been spied or teased yet. We expect it to get a more premium interior with minor changes to the dashboard design and layout and slightly more upmarket finishes across the cabin. We expect it to get some new features including a large digital driver display, automatic climate control, six standard airbags, a better audio system, an air purifier, and connected car features. 

The facelift will also feature features from the current model, including an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, keyless entry with push-button start,  steering-mounted audio controls, and rear AC vents.

Safety will likely be taken care of by ABS with EBD, ESC, 6 airbags as standard, rear parking camera with parking sensors, hill start assist, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Renault Triber Facelift: Powertrain 

Powertrain details are yet to be revealed, but we expect Renault to not make any major changes here. The updated Triber will probably continue with the familiar 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, which generates 72 PS of power and 96 Nm of torque. The engine will come with both, a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. This engine feels underpowered considering the size of the Triber, and the MPV needs the Kiger’s 100 PS 1-litre turbo-petrol unit for better performance. However, there is no confirmation on the same, yet.  

Renault Triber Facelift: Price And Rivals 

We expect the facelift to carry a slight premium over the current model, which is priced from Rs 6.10 lakh to Rs 8.97 lakh (ex-showroom). The Triber is a more affordable alternative to the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and XL6.

If the Triber manages to get some extra features inside to elevate the feel of the cabin, and Renault does not increase the price by much, then it could prove to be a very value-for-money proposition. Moreover, the Triber needs a more powerful engine and it’s high time Renault brings in the turbo-petrol engine for the MPV. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
