3 Upcoming MPVs In Different Budgets You Should Consider Waiting For!

MPV season has arrived in India, as we will be seeing not one or two but three new MPVs on our shores this month. Interestingly, all three MPVs belong to totally different segments, thereby catering to different sets of buyers. However, the need for a practical MPV for their large families is what’s common among these customers. In this list, we have a facelifted version of an entry-level MPV, an electric iteration of a very popular MPV, and a completely new face in the luxury MPV segment.

2025 Renault Triber Facelift

Renault will be launching the facelifted version of its entry-level Triber MPV on July 23, 2025. It will be the first major upgrade for the MPV, and the update will bring in changes inside and outside. The exterior will retain the silhouette but will likely get new design elements such as new alloy wheels, updated grille and new LED headlights and tail lights. The interior, too, is expected to get an upgrade, including some new features such as a large digital driver display, automatic climate control, more speakers, and six standard airbags.

Kia Carens Clavis EV 

Recently, Kia launched the Carens Clavis on our shores, and is now all set to introduce its electric version as well. The Clavis EV will be revealed on July 15, and prices could be announced soon after the official unveiling. The Clavis EV will get some EV-specific design bits and a slightly tweaked interior to set itself apart from the ICE version. Its top features will include a panoramic sunroof, dual 12.3-inch displays, automatic climate control, and powered and ventilated seats. 

Kia has confirmed that the Carens Clavis EV will be offered with a 51.4 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of up to 490 km (MIDC combined cycle). The Clavis EV is expected to be priced from Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom). Here’s everything you need to know about it. 

MG M9 

The M9 is MG’s upcoming electric luxury MPV, positioned somewhere between the Toyota Vellfire and Kia Carnival. The M9 is longer than an Innova Hycross, with around 5.3 metres of length, and is capable of competing with expensive luxury vehicles in terms of comfort and convenience. Its two large ottoman seats ensure topmost comfort, and the abundance of features provides utmost comfort. Even its third row seats are actually usable! The M9 is expected to be priced from around Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom). Its quirky styling might not be for everyone, but its cabin will definitely be a place where you would want to spend time. 

The M9 comes with a front-mounted electric motor that makes 245 PS and 350 Nm torque, powered by a 90 kWh battery pack. It offers a WLTP-certified range of 430 km, which is respectable for an MPV of this size and weight. 

The Triber is for those who are on a budget, while the Clavis EV is expected to provide a premium feel at a reasonable price. On the other hand, the M9 is for those who want the ultimate experience and are also willing to splurge a good amount of money on their next purchase.
