Skoda has launched a sporty looking Sportline edition of the Slavia, priced from Rs 14.05 lakh. The special edition brings in a bunch of cosmetic updates including blacked out elements for the exterior. As seen on most special editions, there are no mechanical updates to the car. In this article, we take you through the Slavia's special edition to show you how it looks in real life:
From the front, the Slavia sports a blacked out grille which is flanked by LED DRLs and LED headlamps. As you can see, all the chrome elements have been dechromed and it also gets a black fog lamp garnish.
In profile, it sports blacked-out 16-inch alloy wheels which dial up the sportiness quotient. Continuing with the dark theme, the ORVMs also get a black cover. Additionally, it gets a black window garnish, gloss black strip under the doors, and dark chrome inserts on the door handles.
Coming to the rear, it gets darkened LED tail lamps, a sporty looking black diffuser with black bumper garnish and a black trunk spoiler. Even the Skoda lettering along with the other badging is finished in black now.

The Sportline variant is available across all colour options that are offered with the Slavia, but comes in a dualtone shade with a black roof.
The Sportline variant is based on the mid-spec Signature variant of the Slavia so the dashboard design and layout remains similar. The interior gets a black and beige treatment and not the all-black look which you would expect from a Sportline variant. The cabin gets all the necessary equipment and certain niceties as well, but misses out on some of the premium features that are available with the top-spec Slavia. Additionally, it also gets aluminum pedals that look slick.
The seats available with this special edition are fabric seats and not the leatherette ones that you get to see on the top-spec variants. The front seats also miss out on the seat ventilation feature.
In terms of equipment, it gets a 10-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a single-pane sunroof, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, electrically adjustable ORVMs, cruise control, rain-sensing wiper and auto-dimming IRVM.
The safety kit includes 6 airbags, a rearview camera and rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear defogger and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
The Slavia Sportline is available with both 1-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. The smaller 1-litre engine produces 115 PS and 178 Nm and is available with both 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed torque converter. The more potent 1.5-litre engine churns out 150 PS and 250 Nm and can be had only with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).
The Slavia Sportline is priced from Rs 14.05 lakh to Rs 16.75 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with sedans like the VW Virtus, Honda City, and the Hyundai Verna.
