We have great news for off-roading enthusiasts - a more affordable KTM 390 Adventure X is coming to India! Details of the ADV have been leaked on the KTM’s official website ahead of its launch which is expected to happen next week. Here’s what it gets and misses out on.

Firstly, it compromises on electronics. That means no traction control, no quickshifter, no ride-by-wire, and no cornering ABS either. The saving grace is that the ABS is switchable. This should be helpful while off-roading, as it allows wheel slip on broken roads.

To cut costs, KTM has decided that the 390 Adventure X should feature a simpler LCD console, borrowed from the 250 Adventure, instead of the 390’s TFT console. This shouldn’t be much of a loss and on the contrary, it is a good way to reduce the price. Why? Because even without the console, the 390 Adventure would offer a great riding experience.

The suspension on paper looks identical, however, the Adventure X variant gets WP Apex big piston USD fork, whereas the standard gets a WP Apex open cartridge USD fork. Both are 43mm in diameter and offer a 170mm travel.

Apart from the above-mentioned bits, the 390 Adventure X is exactly the same as the standard model. It runs on 19/17-inch alloy wheels. It will be available in the Galactic Blue & Dark Galvano Black colour schemes.

With all the above-mentioned features given a miss, we expect the new 390 Adventure X to flaunt a price tag of under Rs 3 lakh, ex-showroom, though there are some reports that point at a 2.8L price as well. Consumers will get the 390 Adventure experience at a much more attractive price tag. It still rivals the likes of the Royal Enfield Himalayan and BMW G 310 GS. The standard 390 Adventure, which is packed with all the electronics, is priced at Rs 3,37,043 (ex-showroom Delhi).
