Though the design changes on the Altroz facelift are modest, the interior updates do add a noticeable improvement to the overall package

Tata Motors has taken the wraps off the Altroz facelift, featuring styling updates inside out. With these changes, the 2025 Altroz not only enhances its visual appeal but also brings major updates over the model it replaces. In this report, we compare the pre-facelift Altroz with the refreshed version and highlight the key changes in terms of design, interior, as well as its feature set.

Updated Design

At first glance, both the 2025 Altroz and the pre-facelift model carry an aggressive appearance. However, when you look closely, the updated Altroz feels more modern, thanks to its sleeker LED DRLs and a revised LED headlight setup. In comparison, the older model comes across as more conventional in its design.

Although the silhouette of both models is similar, the 2025 Altroz elevates its design with an updated alloy wheel design and upmarket additions like flush-fit door handles. With the connected LED tail lamps and updated bumper, the facelifted Altroz looks notably improved compared to the old model. Overall, the design of the pre-facelift Altroz maintained its sporty character, but the styling of the updated model enhances it even further.

Refreshed Interior

The interior of the Altroz already had an uncluttered layout, which worked in its favour from a practicality standpoint. With the update, the 2025 Altroz adopts a more minimalist theme and introduces a black and beige colour scheme.

The new theme enhances the overall ambiance compared to the older black and white colour scheme. Another major addition inside the 2025 Altroz is the illuminated steering wheel, which, along with feature additions, adds to its upmarket interior.

Feature Additions

Feature additions in the 2025 Altroz include a larger 10.25-inch digital driver’s display (up from the 7-inch unit in the older model), a single-pane sunroof, and a touch-based climate control panel. Other amenities include a 10.25-inch infotainment system, automatic climate control, 8-speaker sound system, rear AC vents, push-button start/stop, and cruise control.

On the safety front, the highlight is the addition of a blind spot monitor that uses ORVM-mounted cameras to display surroundings directly on the digital driver’s display. Equipment like 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and 360-degree camera system have been carried forward.

Similar Powertrain Options

Tata will likely offer the 2025 Altroz with the same petrol and diesel engine options as before. These include an 88 PS / 115 Nm 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 120 PS / 170 Nm 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, and a 90 PS / 200 Nm 1.5-litre diesel engine. The naturally aspirated petrol engine can also be had with a factory-fitted CNG kit, which reduces the output to 73.5 PS / 103 Nm.

Transmission choices for the 1.2-litre NA petrol include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic. The CNG, diesel, and turbo-petrol options are offered only with a manual gearbox. However, the turbo-petrol gets a 6-speed unit, while the CNG and diesel engines are paired with a 5-speed manual.

2025 Altroz Expected Pricing and Launch Details

We expect the pricing of the 2025 Altroz to command a slight premium over the pre-facelift model, which was priced between Rs 6.65 lakh and Rs 11.30 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, the facelifted Altroz will continue to rival the Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Hyundai i20.

With sharper styling and notable feature upgrades, the 2025 Altroz facelift feels like a more polished and modern version of an already capable hatchback. It retains the strengths of the older model while adding a dash of freshness inside out.
