Honda recently launched the NX200 in India, which is basically a renamed CB200X. Its closest competitor is the Suzuki V-Strom SX. Lets have a closer look at how these motorcycles compete against each other.
The Honda NX200 is an adventure-touring motorcycle. It gets a well-designed front fairing with a neatly integrated LED headlight and a tall front visor. Overall the NX200 looks quite appealing in terms of the design. The motorcycle is offered in 3 exciting colour options: Athletic Blue Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, and Pearl Igneous Black.

The Suzuki V-Strom SX gets a well designed front beak along with a tall front visor. The motorcycle also gets a front fairing which goes quite well with the overall design of the motorcycle. The V-Strom SX gets a tall stance which makes it look like a proper adventure tourer. It is offered in 3 colour options: Glass Sparkle Black, Champion Yellow No 2, Metallic Sonoma Red.

For 2025, the Honda NX200 gets a 184.4cc single cylinder, air-cooled engine which makes 17PS at 8,500rpm and 15.7Nm at 6,000rpm. Previously this engine has been praised for its linear power delivery and refinement.

The Suzuki V-Strom SX gets a 249cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine which makes 26.5PS at 9,300rpm and 22.2Nm at 7,300rpm. Being a 250cc motor in comparison the V-Strom SX makes a lot more power and torque than the NX200. Which means that the V-Strom is going to be a lot quicker and faster in real life scenarios.

The Honda NX200 uses a diamond type frame and gets a golden-coloured USD fork and a rear monoshock with preload adjustability. For braking duties the NX200 gets a 276mm front and 220mm rear disc brake setup. The motorcycle weighs 147kg (kerb). The 12-litre fuel tank capacity is pretty decent for a 184cc motorcycle and will provide a decent tank range. The saddle height is 810mm which is lower than the V-Strom SX.

The Suzuki V-Strom SX also has a diamond type frame and gets a 41mm conventional fork, and a rear monoshock with preload adjustability. The braking duties are taken care of by a 300mm front and 220mm rear disc brake setup. At 167kg (kerb), the V-Strom SX is 20kg heavier than NX200. It has a taller seat height of 835mm.

For 2025, Honda has loaded the NX200 with all the new features. It gets a 4.2-inch TFT display which shows all the crucial information and gets smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth. It also gets turn-by-turn navigation and SMS/calls alerts. The NX200 gets a dual channel ABS and switchable traction control along with a slip and assist clutch.

The Suzuki V-Strom SX gets an all-LED headlight. The LCD screen on the Suzuki shows all the necessary information and also gets smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth. It gets convenient features like turn-by-turn navigation and SMS/call alerts. The V-Strom SX gets a dual-channel ABS which is not switchable and there is no traction control on offer.

The Honda NX200 is priced at Rs 1,68,499 (ex-showroom Delhi) while the V-Strom SX will set you back Rs 2,16,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). Both of these contenders are road biased touring motorcycles that have a tall stance.
The Honda NX200 is significantly down on power in comparison and also costs a lot less. For the price, it still offers a lot of usable features and comes with Honda reliability. The after sales and service is also going to be pretty much sorted as Honda has got a service centre in almost every part of the country.
The Suzuki V-Strom SX is one of the best quarter-litre touring motorcycles in India. Its engine offers a blend of linear power delivery, refinement and reliability. It makes this an apt touring motorcycle for the price.
